Office Depot opens New Concept Stores in Denver
(Best Syndication News) - Office Depot (NYSE: ODP) has opened four new stores in Denver, Colorado that will change the shopping experience from what one would come to expect at the office supply store. Two stores are already open and two more will open in December.
The new stores are laid-out differently than before. Office Depot used customer input to redesign their store experience and layout. The new stores will have PC bars that allow people to come and hook up their computer. They will offer free self-serve coffee during certain times of the day (8 a.m. – 10 a.m., and 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. on weekdays.) If you do not have a computer, you can rent time on one of their computers.
The stores also have a tech support center for computer repair and networking help. There will be printing, document shredding, and photocopying and other business service in the center of the store.
A store-within-a-store, dubbed bluwire, will offer high-tech accessories such as iPhone cases, headphones, and speakers.
If an item is not in the store, customers will now be able to order the item and have it delivered to their home or office for free. This free shipping offer is available at all 1,100 retail stores. If the product is not on store shelves, the customer can order it with the help of a store associate to get the item delivered. Several touch screen displays throughout the store will let customers order any product from officedepot.com.
The Denver locations that are currently open are at 705 S. Colorado Blvd. and at 1585 Wynkoop St. On December 5, 2012, the new-format Office Depot store at 616 E. Colfax Ave. will open. Then on December 12, 2012, they will open a store at 2600 W. Belleview Ave.
After opening these newly redesigned concept-stores in Denver, ODP plans to roll-out similar stores throughout the country.
