(Best Syndication News) - Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) announced new support for their latest Cloud Player service that will allow customers to play their music collection on Samsung SmartTVs and through Roku boxes. Amazon Cloud Player is also supported on the Amazon Kindle Fire, Sonos Music Players, Google Android OS mobile phones and tablets, Apple iPhones, and Apple iPod Touch players.
The Roku box connects to the Internet to stream video and music to the TV set. Amazon Instant Video is also currently supported on the Roku. To use the Amazon Cloud Player, Roku users can add it to their channels by browsing either the featured channels or Music category in the Roku Channel Store. The Amazon Cloud Player channel is free to add on the Roku. The Roku supported with the Amazon Cloud Player are the Roku 2 HD, Roku 2 XD, Roku 2 XS, Roku LT, and the Roku Streaming Stick.
Consumers who have the U.S. 2012 models of Samsung SmartTVs will also be able to add Amazon Cloud Player to their TV menu. The Amazon Cloud Player app can be added to the TV by searching on the Samsung Smart Hub. The new app will allow users to browse and find songs in their Amazon Cloud Player music library -- all on the TV.
Many consumers home theater speaker systems connected to their TV making playing music through the television more desirable. The Roku and Samsung SmartTVs, gives Amazon Cloud Player customers another way to listen to their music library.
