Cloud Video Game Play coming to Google TV

(Best Syndication News) - Ubitus Inc. announced that they would be bringing console and MMO video games to play through Google TV. The company will be demonstrating their cloud gaming technology for the Google TV platform at the 2013 Consumers Electronics Show (CES) this week.

As bandwidth quality continually improves, Ubitus sees the potential for delivering video games over the Internet directly to TV sets, which the company considers a central component for home entertainment. Lags in streaming intensive video games smoothly have hindered full integration of cloud gaming services to TV sets. Ubitus claims to have overcome this problem.

Ubitus explains that cloud video game play will be promoted as a service, not a product. The video game titles would not have to be purchased all at one time, but would be available instantly when users want to play the game.

"Google TV is an ideal platform for cloud gaming and we have tackled the obstacles to achieving low latency streaming game experience with multi gaming controller devices support on Google TV," said Wesley Kuo, CEO of Ubitus. "This brings tremendous benefits to consumers, particularly with the increasing adoption of Smart TVs and new generation of Set-top-boxes in every consumer's home."
