Recall announced for Personal Handheld Air Misters sold at Target Stores
(Best Syndication News) - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the voluntary recall of around 168,000 handheld air misters sold at Target stores nationwide. The product is being recalled because the unit can shatter and cause potential lacerations.
The handheld air misters were imported by Target Corp. (NYSE:TGT) and were sold at their stores nationwide between February 2012 and May 2012 for around $2.50. Target announced the recall after receiving three reports of the air misters shattering. One of the reports involved a person being cut.
The personal handheld air mister is designed for spraying a mist to cool a person down. The unit stands 8 inches tall and holds 2 ounces of water. The cylinders have clear plastic so users can see the water level. The top and base came in black, blue, green, and pink colors.
Attached on the top of the air mister is a nylon carrying strap. Instructions to use the device are written in white letters and are displayed on the outside of the clear cylinder.
Consumers who have the recalled air misters are asked to stop using them immediately. They are instructed to return the product to any Target store to get a full refund.
