Advertising Rates

Advertisement Format Requirements:

The Ads must be an image, except in our classified advertising section.  If you would like the words to appear to be text, they can be converted to an image, and you can include title=" " alt="alt text” tags. The ads can link to your website. We do not accept advertisements for inappropriate sites including pornographic and gambling sites.  The ads themselves must be appropriate for all audiences.

Please note: Just because you see an ad in a section right now does not mean that area is unavailable. We work with various agencies, and most of the time those ads can be removed and your ad can be placed in their place. Rates are subject to change, so please reserve your ad early. We only accept check or money order.

We have various advertising rates and options depending on the category and location on the page. The categories listed in the tables below have sub-categories. For instance, “Loans and Credit” and “Insurance” are subcategories of Business. If you advertise in the Business category, your ad appears in the sub-categories too. The advertising rates are not broken down for the sub-categories, and we are not able to place ads in specific sub-categories. So if you want advertise under “Celebrity Gossip”, you need to purchase an ad in the Entertainment section. Click here for the list of all of the categories and subcategories. Then open “All News” to see the categories, and then click the category to see the sub-categories.

HERE ARE OUR ADVERTISING RATES:

Single Article Rates:

If you would like to advertise on one specific page, you can do so with a 468 pixel wide by 60 pixel tall ad. It will be embedded in the article and will cost $20 per year. The ad will be placed right below the picture associated with the article (where the Google Ad is currently - see picture above). Your ad would replace the Google Ad.

Top Advertisement:

The Top Ads on the pages will vary in price depending on the news section. These ads will appear on all pages in the specified section. So if you purchase the very top ad in the Business section, it will appear on every page in the Business Section (except in rare instances when an article is placed in two categories). These ads must be 468 pixels wide by 60 pixels tall.

Right Side Bar Advertisements:

These ads will appear on the Right side bar.  Your ad would appear below the image of the camera for our photo gallery link on all pages in that category.  We will accept five advertisements in this area for each category except for the front page. We can accept 7 ads in the right sidebar on the front page. Ad placement in that bar is not guaranteed (i.e. top or middle etc). The ads must be 120 pixels wide and 240 pixels tall.

Our Classified Advertising Section:

Our classified advertising section appears at the bottom of each page.  These are the tiny text ads. Your ads must not exceed 80 characters, not including the link tags. The link tags are not included in the 80 characters.  There are no classified ads on the front page.
