(Best Syndication) Home ownership is a necessity and the first step in becoming wealthy, according to author and financial expert David Bach. Bach has appeared on Oprah Winfrey and the ABC News program 20/20. On Friday night he told the 20/20 audience "You can't get rich if you're a renter. The American dream of home ownership has really separated the rich from the poor in this country. The average renter in America today is worth less than $5,000. The average homeowner is worth over $172,000.”

Bach says that many people can afford a home but do not take the initiative to actually buy one. "There are nearly 10 million renters today that could actually afford to buy a home, to get a mortgage, but they don't know it," he said. "You don't need a big down payment. You don't have to have perfect credit." To prove his point he took two couples and started working on their home ownership.

Parkinson’s Disease Gene Therapy Breakthrough Reduces Symptoms – Advanced Condition When Patients Fail To Respond Medicines

Dr. Andrew Feigin

(Best Syndication) Scientists in New York say that a special gene therapy treatment may help advanced Parkinson’s disease sufferers who do not or stopped responding to current medicines.

Gene therapy may be a better way to treat Parkinson’s disease. “Gene therapy could be a more natural way to treat the disease,” said Dr. Andrew Feigin, MD,director of Neuroscience Experimental Therapeutics at The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research. He collaborated with Parkinson’s disease researchers at the New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center in Manhattan.

The study involved one woman and 11 men who were in advanced stages of the illness and who were no longer responding to medications. The patients were given an infusion of fluid containing a viral vector and genes for a protein called GAD, glutamic acid decarboxylase. The Feinstein’s David Eidelberg, MD, took brain scans before, during and after the treatment.

(Best Syndication) Norwegian researchers have found that the oldest brother is usually the smartest brother. The study did not involve girls, but they said that being born first was not as important as growing up the senior child. They say that “social rank” is a bigger determining factor for IQ.

The average IQ of first-born boys was 103.2, while the second-born averaged 101.2. But when the older brother died in infancy the second born brother scored 102.9 on IQ tests. The boys born third had an average IQ of 100.0, which is average. The researchers concluded that "evidence that the relation between birth order and IQ score is dependent on the social rank in the family and not birth order as such”.

What did get passed was an increase in fuel economy standards for automakers from 25 mpg to 35 mpg by the year 2020.
