(Best Syndication News) - The US Postal Service (USPS) suggested that residents who were displaced from Hurricane Sandy should consider alternate mail delivery options. Postal customers should consider filing for a change of address, placing a mail delivery hold, or a temporary forwarding address. The three services are all options that would help keep the mail flowing.

Temporary Change of Address

A change of address can be filed either online or at a nearby Post Office location. The address change can be set for 15 days and up to one year. As the mail comes in, it is then forwarded to the new address. Customers can go to usps.com and then click on the “Manage Your Mail” tab. At the post office, the postal employee will ask you to fill out a “Change of Address” form.
