[Best Syndication] Researchers have new understandings as to what may be causing the death tens of billions of honeybees. Previous conjecture of the massive reduction of the bee population was linked to cell phones. Researchers from Columbia University have pinpointed a virus that would cause the death of so many bees.

The researchers were able to use a Genome Sequencer™ system to identify the virus. The study is called, "A metagenomic survey of microbes in honey bee colony collapse disorder." It can be read in the online edition of Science.

Dr. Ian Lipkin, Professor of Epidemiology at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health along with his colleagues sequenced 454 DNA and RNA samples that were collected from bee colonies. In this study, they were able to identify five major bacterial clusters, four different fungi and seven varieties of viruses.

[Best Syndication] Mexican freight trucks may be given the ok as soon as this Thursday to travel across the border if the U.S. Department of Transportation issues operating permits to certain companies based in Mexico. This is not meaning that any Mexico freight truck will have free reign on US freeways; only 31 Mexican companies are being screened for approval to operate their freight trucks on U.S. soil.

The first companies that have got the ok from the US government through court means will get to travel in only two locations on the first day of crossing the border. They will be able to travel in the Tijuana border and Monterrey suburb border area.

The trucks won’t be allowed to travel far into the U.S. and have restrictions to a 25-mile commercial zone along the border. There is anticipated to be no more than 134 drivers and 151 trucks operating if all goes as planned. Mexican trucks would not be allowed to travel deep inside the U.S. The last time Mexican trucks had access to the U.S. was in 1982. This program is a temporary one-year trial to see if free-trade would be helped with Mexico.
