President Bush Gives Final State Of Union Speech – Will Be Far Different Than Eisenhower’s or Washington’s Farewell Address

Washington and Bush

(Best Syndication) Will President Bush warn the American people of the dangers of big government in his final State of the Union Address in a similar fashion to warnings offered by President Eisenhower and Washington in their farewell addresses; or will the President talk about all of his accomplishments? Although Eisenhower was involved early on in the build-up of the Military Industrial Complex, he did warn us about the negative consequences.

With his foreign policy in shambles, he will likely concentrate on the economy. It is unlikely he will mention Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) or the huge deficits rung-up by his administration and the Republican Congress. He will likely talk about tax cuts and tax rebates, but according to his spokespeople he will not talk about his accomplishments.

(Best Syndication) The Nevada Supreme Court overruled a decision that would have allowed Dennis Kucinich to appear in the Democratic Presidential debate in Las Vegas on Tuesday. Originally, Kucinich was invited by MSNBC to the debate, but just days before the event the news organization withdrew his invitation. This prompted Kucinich to file suit against MSNBC.

On Monday senior district court judge Charles Thompson ruled that MSNBC must allow Kucinich into the debate, or not have the debate at all. He said MSNBC breached the contract. After the ruling Kucinich predicted that MSNBC would continue to fight his presence in the debate. But after Tuesday's Nevada Supreme Court ruling, only Hillary Clinton, John Edwards and Barack Obama were seated on the stage.
