Amazon announces new Kindle Fire HD Tablet and Kindle Paperwhite eBook Reader

(Best Syndication News) - Amazon announced new products today -- the Kindle Fire HD tablet, and the Kindle Paperwhite eBook reader. The new tablets from Amazon will not ship yet. The Kindle Paperwhite is expected to ship around October 1, 2012, while the Kindle Fire HD models will ship on November 20, 2012. The company is offering pre-order for customers to reserve them so they can be the first to own one when they do become available.

The Amazon Kindle Paperwhite ebook reader will be available for $119 with advertisements and $139 without the ads. The Kindle Paperwhite with 3G service capabilities is $179. The new reader has a higher resolution and better contrast than other readers. The battery life lasts for up to 8 weeks. There is also a built-in light so a person can read in the dark. The display has adjustable contrast for reading in all lighting conditions. The new reader also has an anti-glare screen for better reading outdoors.

AT&T adds 4G LTE service to Bakersfield and Modesto

The AT&T 4G LTE network is up to 10 times faster than the company’s 3G service. The faster service works with compatible 4G LTE Smartphones and other mobile devices.

AT&T has been rapidly expanding their 4G LTE network throughout the United States. The company explained that their 4G LTE customers could still get a boost in non-LTE areas with their 4G HSPA+ network.

(Best Syndication News) - During the first half of 2012, AT&T has spent almost $1.1 billion in wireless and wired network upgrades in Texas so they can better serve their customers. The improvements include 4G service, which is the fastest broadband wireless service for mobile devices. The improvements included new cell sites and towers to further expand coverage and to handle more data transfer.

AT&T launched their 4G LTE service in Dallas, Austin, Houston, Corpus Christi, Bryan-College Station, and Waco during the first part of 2012. There were 14 new cell sites and 124 sites that added more capacity in North Texas.

New Dunkin’ Donuts Mobile App has Payment and Virtual Gift Card Options

(Best Syndication News) - A new Dunkin’ Donuts mobile app has been released today and will work with the Apple iPhone, Apple iPod touch, and Android Smartphone devices. The new app will allow customers to pay for their coffee and bakery items using their mobile phone. The user of the app can also send electronic gift cards to other people so they can make purchases at Dunkin’ Donuts.

The mGift feature allows the user of the app to send virtual gift cards via text, email, or Facebook Connect. The virtual gift card denominations range between $2 and $100.

This payment method is available both inside Dunkin’ Donuts as well as through the drive-thru. Inside the app is a virtual Dunkin’ Donuts Card that can be presented at the time of purchase. The Dunkin’ Donuts employee would then scan the virtual card to complete the sale.

Verizon Wireless 4G LTE service to expand Coverage and Launch in New Markets

(Best Syndication News) - Verizon Wireless announced that their 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network will soon be expanded to offer coverage to 75 percent of the population in the United States.

On August 16, Verizon Wireless will introduce the 4G LTE network to 34 new markets and will expand coverage in 38 existing markets. When the expansion is complete, Verizon Wireless will have their 4G LTE network available in 371 markets nationwide.

Nicola Palmer, chief technical officer of Verizon Wireless, said that they are ahead of their expansion schedule for the 4G LTE market in the United States. Palmer also said that Verizon Wireless has a goal to offer coverage to over 400 markets soon.
