(Best Syndication News) - The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the voluntary recall of certain LG and Sears Kenmore brand gas dryers because they could fail to shut off after the dry cycle is completed posing a fire hazard. Damage to the contents of the dryer and the dryer unit could also occur. LG Electronics and Sears are offering a repair to remedy this problem.

The recall involves around 21,000 LG Electronics and Sears’ Kenmore Elite® brand gas dryers. LG Electronics manufactured the recalled dryers and the units were sold at various appliance stores for the LG branded dryers throughout the US. The Kenmore Elite branded gas dryers were sold at Sears stores nationally. They were sold between November 2009 and August 2010 at a retail price between $650 and $1500, depending on the model. The dryers came in a variety of colors.

(Best Syndication News) - The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the voluntary recall of GE Dishwashers because they could catch on fire. There is the potential for the heating element to fail, which could cause a fire. The GE dishwashers include the GE, GE Adora™, GE Eterna™, GE Profile™ and Hotpoint® brands.

Around 1.3 million dishwashers are involved in the recall. The units were sold nationwide between March 2006 and August 2009 with prices ranging between $350 and $850. The recall was announced after GE received around 15 reports of dishwashers that had their heating elements fail. In these reports, seven dishwashers caught on fire. Three of these fires caused widespread property damage. No personal injuries were reported to the company.

Sears announces recall of Kenmore brand Dehumidifiers

(Best Syndication News) - The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the voluntary recall of 795,000 Sears Kenmore brand dehumidifiers because they could overheat, smoke, melt, or catch on fire.

There were 107 reports of problems with the dehumidifiers. Over $7 million of property damage occurred. Three reports involved smoke inhalation injuries.

(Best Syndication News) - The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the voluntary recall of HeathCo’s motion security lights that were sold exclusively at Home Depot Stores nationwide. The lights’ internal wiring could have became damaged when they were installed, when the lights were adjusted, or when the bulb was replaced. The damaged wire could cause an electric shock.

The company has not received any reports of consumer complaints on this product and no injuries were reported.

Peg Perego Stroller recall announced - Free Repair Kit

(Best Syndication News) - A voluntary recall was announced by Peg Perego USA Inc. because certain baby strollers they distributed have an entrapment and strangulation danger for the baby riding in it. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall, which involves around 223,000 baby strollers. The company is giving out a free repair kit to remedy the problem.

Two serious incidents occurred with these strollers. In 2004, a 6-month old baby boy died of strangulation from being entrapped between the tray and the seat of the stroller. In 2006, another 7-month old girl almost suffered the same fate. This prompted further investigation and the recall.
