Current Mortgage Interest Rates Lower Today – Chase Bank of America and HSBC Make Changes

(Best Syndication News) Mortgage rates sank today as HSBC, Chase and Bank of America make some big changes (see rate charts below). A number of of the benchmarks have been falling too.

Benchmark Indexes

Some of the benchmarks were lower while others were higher today (see benchmark chart below). Some of the benchmark Treasuries were unchanged today but the LIBOR increased.

There are many factors that affect mortgage rates including the 10-year Note. Government bonds, bills and notes were unchanged today, but over the last five days the yields were higher. Short term yields were lower

Current Mortgage Interest Rates Today – SunTrust Chase and PNC Lowered Rates

(Best Syndication News) Interest rates were lower today with SunTrust, Chase and PNC making changes (see charts below). The benchmarks were mixed.


The benchmark indexes were mixed Wednesday with some LIBOR rates lower and some Treasuries higher (see benchmark chart below).

Today Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said that we are entering a soft patch where economic conditions are slowing. The central bank is ending their quantitative easing (QE2) program which was keeping interest rates low. Their Federal Funds rate will remain at a historic low between zero and 0.25 percent..

Mortgage Rates Today - Loans Higher at Bank of America Chase and U.S. Bank

(Best Syndication News) Current mortgage interest rates were higher today with some changes at several U.S. banks (see charts below). There were few changes in the benchmark indexes that help bankers determine their loan rates.


The vote of confidence in favor or against of Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou could affect interest rates in the United States. Investors are hoping for a positive vote of confidence that would keep Greece from restructuring their debt (bankruptcy).

Current Mortgage Interest Rates – Citibank and SunTrust Raise Loans while PNC Lowers Them

(Best Syndication News) Mortgage rates were mixed today with some changes at Citibank, PNC and SunTrust (see rate charts below). The benchmark indexes were also mixed.


The most common benchmark index for determining adjustable rate mortgage (ARM) rates, the 6-month London InterBank Offered Rate (LIBOR), declined slightly to 0.39475 (see the benchmark chart below). Over the last 5-days, the 6-month and 1-year LIBOR rates were higher but the 3-month and 1-month rates were lower.

(Best Syndication News) Mortgage interest rates were mixed and nearly unchanged Friday (see rate charts below). The benchmarks were mixed as well, with some Treasuries yields higher and other yields lower.


Many of the benchmarks were unchanged today (see benchmark chart below). The index most lenders refer to, the 6-month London InterBank Offered Rate (LIBOR), was unchanged at 0.395. The one-year LIBOR was higher, up to 0.72775.
