Current Mortgage Rates Today – Higher Interest at Citibank Chase and Bank of America

(Best Syndication News) After 10 days of decreases, mortgage interest rates increased Monday (see rate charts below). Fixed rates are still at historic lows with the Federal Funds rate between a range of zero and one quarter percent.

30-Year Fixed Mortgage Rates

The average 30-year fixed rate mortgage (FRM) rose two basis points to 4.630 percent today. One basis point is equivalent to 1/100th of a percentage point.

Citibank raised their conforming rate five points to 4.85 percent.

Current Mortgage Interest Rates Today – Lower Trend but PNC Chase and BofA raise home loans

(Best Syndication News) Mortgage rates were mixed today with some banks lowering them and others raising them (see rate charts below).

Many banks use the London InterBank Offered Rate (LIBOR) and 10-year Treasury notes as a benchmark for their interest rates. The 10-year Treasury note fell two points (-0.63%) to 3.17 percent. The 1 Year LIBOR Rate fell to 0.75 from 0.78 last week.

30-Year Fixed Mortgage Rates

The average 30-year fixed rate mortgage (FRM) fell one basis point to 4.606 percent on Saturday. Over the last week the rate dropped five basis points.

Current Mortgage Rates Today – SunTrust PNC and US Bank Make Changes

(Best Syndication News) Mortgage interest rates were lower today but SunTrust bucked the trend and raised their loans (see rate chart below). Ten year note yields were up five points to 3.22%. Many banks use the LIBOR and 10-year notes as a benchmark for their finance rates.

30-year Fixed Mortgage Rates

The average 30-year fixed rate mortgage (FRM) fell two basis points to 4.616 percent today. In the United States, these are the most common mortgage products.

U.S. Bank lowered their rate four basis points to 4.56 percent. The bank also offers 20-year financing. That rate remained level at 4.46 percent. The lender lowered their 30-year VA loans 13 basis points to 4.85 percent.

Current Mortgage Interest Rates Mixed Today – Chase rate higher while SunTrust lower

(Best Syndication News) Mortgage rates were mixed today with a decrease in the 30-year rate but an increase in the 15-year rate (see chart below for details).

30-year Fixed Mortgage Rates

The average 30-year fixed rate mortgage (FRM) fell another basis point Wednesday after dropping nine points over the last week.

The 10-year Treasury note yield increased today and Chase raised their interest rates. The 10-year note yield, a benchmark for some lenders, increased six points to 3.23 percent.

Mortgage Rates Today – Loan Rates Keep Falling Fast at Major Banks including BofA Citibank and Suntrust

(Best Syndication News) Mortgage interest rates continued their downward trend today with Bank of America, SunTrust and Citibank making changes (see bank rate chart below).

30-Year Fixed Mortgage Rates

The average 30-year fixed rate mortgage (FRM) fell three basis points to 4.652 percent. The trend has been lower over the last week, month and 100 days. We plugged the rate into a mortgage calculator and found monthly payments of $1,212 on a $235,000 loan.

This week there has been heavy investment in government bonds. This has driven down yield rates. Since many banks tie their rate to 10-year note yields, mortgage rates have been dropping.
