(Best Syndication News) - The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the voluntary recall of GE Dishwashers because they could catch on fire. There is the potential for the heating element to fail, which could cause a fire. The GE dishwashers include the GE, GE Adora™, GE Eterna™, GE Profile™ and Hotpoint® brands.

Around 1.3 million dishwashers are involved in the recall. The units were sold nationwide between March 2006 and August 2009 with prices ranging between $350 and $850. The recall was announced after GE received around 15 reports of dishwashers that had their heating elements fail. In these reports, seven dishwashers caught on fire. Three of these fires caused widespread property damage. No personal injuries were reported to the company.

(Best Syndication News) - Certain Dippin’ Stix Sliced Apples & Caramel with Peanuts and Armour Active Packs Cheese Pizza Lunch kits are being recalled because they might be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the voluntary recall for Reichel Foods, Inc. There have been no reports of illness.

The products were distributed at convenience stores and retailers nationwide. Only the products with the use by dates and case codes listed below are involved in the recall.

The Dippin’ Stix Apples & Caramel with Peanuts are packaged in 2.75 ounce single serve trays. The case code dates involved in the recall are 9/01/12, 09/02/12, and 09/03/12. The use by dates on each package will have USE BY 01SEP2012, USE BY 02SEP2012, and USE BY 03SEP2012 printed on it.

Sam’s Choice Frozen Bacon Cheeseburger Patty recall announced for Possible Foreign Material

(Best Syndication News) - Foreign material such as gaskets pieces might be found in some 37,600 pounds of frozen bacon cheeseburger patties. This has prompted Kenosha Beef International, Ltd. to announce a recall through the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Services (FSIS). The patties were distributed under the Sam’s Choice brand name.

Consumers complained to the company that foreign material was found in the food. No injury or illness was reported in association with this recall.

The company distributed the patties to Indiana, Maine, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Wisconsin.

Sears announces recall of Kenmore brand Dehumidifiers

(Best Syndication News) - The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the voluntary recall of 795,000 Sears Kenmore brand dehumidifiers because they could overheat, smoke, melt, or catch on fire.

There were 107 reports of problems with the dehumidifiers. Over $7 million of property damage occurred. Three reports involved smoke inhalation injuries.

Cantaloupe Recall announced for possible Listeria

(Best Syndication News) - The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the voluntary recall of 580 cases of Athena cantaloupe fresh produce that came from Burch Farms, located in North Carolina. A sample of the produce was found to have been contaminated with listeria monocytogenes. While no illnesses have been reported to the farm, out of safety concerns, consumers should not eat the recalled cantaloupes.

The whole Athena cantaloupes were distributed to retailers throughout the northeastern United States. The shipments were made on July 15. The cantaloupes will have a red label with the words “Burch Farms” and “PLU #4319” printed on it.
