Target announces plan to open new store in Pomona

(Best Syndication News) - Target Corporation (NYSE:TGT) announced plans to open a new store in Pomona, California. If all goes as planned, the store should open by October 2013. The Pomona store location is one of sixteen other Target store openings planned for next year.

The Pomona Target Store will be located on Rio Rancho Road and Auto Center Drive. In addition to their regular products, the store will have a grocery section with fresh produce, meats, and a bakery. Altogether, the store will encompass around 140,000 square feet.

High Desert Residents warned of Telephone Scam

(Best Syndication News) - The City of Hesperia is warning residents of a telephone scam targeting the elderly in the High Desert. The scammer calls potential victims pretending to be a grandchild of the elderly person and asks for money.

The imposter calls their victim, claims to have been in a traffic accident, and asks the grandparent to buy a $500 “Green Dot Money Pack” to help them. Then they call the elderly person later to get the card number.

This is just one of many scams going on by telephone and by the Internet. The victim believes the scammer because they have personal information or pretends to be a family member.

County Wins Award for their Vision Statement

(Best Syndication News) The county of San Bernardino won the 2012 Good Government Award for their work on the water inventory and County Vision. Water departments throughout the county – both up and down the hill – collaborated to determine how much water was available.

The Countywide Vision Element Group reports that some individual water agencies may not meet the increased demand over the next twenty years, but if the various companies and water districts work together there will be an ample supply. The goal is to produce enough water for residents and businesses through 2035.

CalTrans announces Full Nightime Closure of the 91 Freeway in Riverside

(Best Syndication News) – Night-time commuters will be facing a full freeway closure of State Route 91 at 14th street in Riverside later this month. Caltrans announced that the closure will begin on Monday, December 17, 2012 starting at midnight and go through Friday December 21, 2012. The hours of closure will be between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.

The full freeway closure is to allow for construction workers to complete falsework for the new 14th Street Bridge. During the closures, motorists will need to follow detour signs or find an alternative route. Additionally, commuters will need to add extra time for travel delays.

Three recently elected San Bernardino County Supervisors sworn into Office

(Best Syndication News) - Three recently elected San Bernardino County Supervisors were sworn into office this week. The supervisors included Josie Gonzales, Robert A. Lovingood and James C. Ramos. All three elected officials will be serving the county for the next four years.

Supervisor Gonzales will continue to represent the Fifth District. She has been on the board since 2004, and with her re-election, she will continue her service for the cities of San Bernardino, Colton, Rialto, and Fontana. Additionally, Gonzales serves the unincorporated communities of Muscoy and Bloomington.
