Local Supervisor Elected to Multi-State Agency

(Best Syndication News) First District Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt has been unanimously elected to serve as Chairman of the QuadState Local Governments Authority. QuadState is a 9-county interstate joint powers authority. The agency is made up of local governments from California, Arizona, Nevada and Utah.

"Many of the issues addressed by QuadState pertain to the Mojave Desert region, and my district contains about 15,000 square miles, or most of that region," said Supervisor Mitzelfelt. "My goal as chairman is to advocate for federal natural resource and public lands policies that will ensure continued economic development and job creation in our deserts - especially in the areas of mining, energy development and recreation."

Chamber Members Take Oath of Office at Installation Dinner

(Best Syndication News) Directors of the Phelan and Pinon Hills Chambers of Commerce were sworn in last week at a combined installation dinner.

The two chambers have combined their installation dinners over the last few years, however this year was special. Phelan celebrated their 50th anniversary in the Womack Auditorium at the Pinon Mesa Middle School.

There have been quite a few upgrades to Glen Helen since Apple Computer founder Steve Wozniak promoted and held the “us Festival” there back in 1982. The San Manuel Amphitheater (formerly known as the Glen Helen Pavilion, Hyundai Pavilion, and the Blockbuster Pavilion), which was created specifically for the festival, is the largest outdoor amphitheater in the United States.

City of Hesperia offers Live Webcam and Daily Photo Time-Lapse of Construction Projects

(Best Syndication News) - The City of Hesperia is hosting a live webcam of the rail construction near Mojave and G Avenue on their website. Additionally, the city officials will be showing the Ranchero underpass construction progress with daily time-lapse photos of the project online.

The City of Hesperia will make available daily time-lapse photos of the Ranchero Road underpass project. There are two cameras that are on-site and take photos every 15 minutes. The photos are combined into a time-lapse slideshow of the construction progress. Residents can view the photos and time lapse at http://www.cityofhesperia.us/index.aspx?NID=844.

California Air Resources Board approves new Clean Vehicle Rules through 2025

(Best Syndication News) - The California Air Resource Board unanimously approved a new clean car and light truck rules through 2025. California has been working on the Advanced Clean Cars program for the past three years.

The goal is to cut smog and greenhouse gases. The government agency said that these new rules would help save drivers money on fuel and would create jobs.
