Apple Valley hosting Free Health and Fitness Expo on May 21


(Best Syndication News) - Apple Valley will be hosting a free Health and Fitness Expo on May 21, 2011 between 10 am and 1 pm. The event will be at the James Woody Community Center in Apple Valley. There is going to be educational information and health and fitness vendors at the event. In addition, there will be some fun activities available for the kids.

There will be cooking demonstrations, diabetes education, and blood pressure checks. There also will be educational information about fitness training. Vendors will also be attending the health expo event; health insurance providers, nutritional supplements booths are just a few planning on attending. There will be raffle prizes, so you might even win something.

For the kids, there will be free activities available such as a rock climbing wall, face painting, and petting zoo. The kids also have a chance to learn about the benefits of washing their hands at a special hand washing station.

The James Woody Community Center is located at 13467 Navajo Road at Powhatan Road.

San Bernardino County Fair - Last day is Sunday, don't miss out on these scheduled events

(Best Syndication News) - The San Bernardino County Fair only has a few days left. There are some special events scheduled for the next few days. All of the special events are scheduled to start at 7:30 pm.

The X-treme Freestyle Moto is a motorcycle stunt show that is scheduled for May 20. There is an extra $10 admission fee for this special event. On May 21, there is an Extreme Monster Truck Show which also has a $10 extra admission fee. On May 22, the Extreme Demolition Derby is going on and costs an $10 extra to enter.

For musical entertainment, Phelan local, Stevie Wright, will be performing on May 20. Wright was a 2009 semi-finalist on FOX’s ‘American Idol’ TV show. You can enjoy her performance for no extra cost at the Pavillion Stage.

Rialto High Students Visit Young Patients at Local Hopstial

(Best Syndication News) Students and athletes from Rialto High School visited young patients at the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) this week.

The visit, which was the brainchild of Rialto High School Football Coach Gavin Pachot, was a life-lesson for his students. “Today our kids gained some maturity and learned a little bit about community service and were reminded that we are blessed to be able to play football and do the things we do,” according to Pachot.

The 25 high school football players and their coach called on patients at the ARMC Pediatrics Department and Edward G. Hirschman Burn Center. Pachot wanted his students to learn about community service and understand the good “fortune they have to be health.”

San Bernardino County Adoption Services Celebrate 60 Years

(Best Syndication News) The San Bernardino County Adoption Services (SBCAS) is celebrating their 60th anniversary of service this year. The agency was licensed in 1951 and has helped more than 11,567 children find safe adoptive homes.

Next month the agency will be holding a celebration of the past and look to the future. Vail Horton, San Bernardino County adoptee and founder of Keen Mobility and Incight Foundation, will be the guest speaker for the celebration beginning at 5 p.m., Tuesday June 21st.

Forever Wild Presentation at the Pinon Hills Chamber Meeting

(Best Syndication News) The Pinon Hills Chamber will be hosting a presentation by the Forever Wild Animal Sanctuary Tuesday night.

The Almquist family was featured in the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in 2009, but they have been saving animals long before that. When the producers of the show approached the Almquist family, they were “barely making it”.

Over a period of a week the ABC Network built a new home and visitor’s center. The new facilities have made some things easier, but they must still meet a monthly budget of $10,000 to stay open.
