Futures and Commodities – Oil silver and gold prices lower – Coal and copper higher

(Best Syndication News) Commodities were generally lower today as the dollar declined broadly (see charts below). We are now following some of the commodities on the Tokyo Commodities Exchange. We will convert the commodities / futures to dollars. See the TOCOM chart below for more details.

Precious Metals

Gold futures on the COMEX for June delivery fell $10.60 (-0.17) to $1,480.00 a troy ounce (see survey #2 settle price chart below). Since the settle, that price moved $13.4 higher.

Futures and Commodities – Lower Gold and Silver Prices Today – Crude Oil Lower Ethanol Higher

(Best Syndication News) Metals and Energy futures were mostly lower today with some exceptions (see commodities charts below).

Precious Metals

Gold and silver were both lower today as the dollar fell versus the euro and yen (see survey #2 chart below).

June gold on the COMEX fell three dollars (-0.20%) to $1,490.60 a troy ounce. The golden metal fell despite the declining dollar.

Futures and Commodities – Gold higher but Silver Prices lower for week

(Best Syndication News) Commodities were mixed this week with silver, platinum and palladium lower but gold was higher (see survey #2 settle price chart below). Oil prices were higher for the week.

Precious Metals

July silver prices advanced Friday but were lower for the week. The metal was up 0.22 percent (+0.62%) to $35.01 an ounce. For the week the metal was down 0.78 percent.

Gold for June delivery settled down $13.20 (-0.88%) to $1,493.60 per troy ounce. The golden metal was up only 0.13 percent for the week.

Options and Futures Trading – Gold and Oil Higher but Silver Prices Drop – FCX rebounds

(Best Syndication News) Commodities were mixed with some precious metals falling and others gaining (see commodities charts below). Brent Crude was lower, but Light Sweet Crude advanced.

Precious Metals

Copper and gold were higher on the COMEX Thursday, but palladium and platinum declined in value (see survey #2 below).

June gold futures gained $5.40 (0.36%) to $1,506.80 an ounce. Inflation concerns have not gone away, but since the settle, gold prices are dropping again. June gold is down $4.0 while gold for May deliver is down $1.70 a troy ounce.

(Best Syndication News) Nearly all commodities were lower Wednesday as economic concerns drive investors away (see futures charts below).

Precious Metals

Commodities are going through a vicious cycle of uncertainty driving down prices with investors taking profits on highs. Industrial output was less than expected in China helped drive down the value of raw materials.

Although spot silver prices were higher on Thursday, futures on the COMEX were lower on Wednesday (see survey #2 chart below). July silver fell $2.97 (-7.72%) to $35.52 an ounce. On Tuesday silver was up nearly four percent.
