The Dow broke through yesterday’s S1 support level.

The share price of Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. (NASDAQ:BBBY) was unchanged at the market close but jumped in after-hours. The share price closed at $54.06 but jumped 0.93 (1.72%) to $54.99 in after hours (3:43 am GMT Thursday). Approximately 3,699,026 shares traded hands during regular trading. The volume was 37 percent above average.

Volume on the Dow was 13 percent below the 100-day moving average but stocks moved more than 100 points higher. The Nasdaq advanced more than two percentage points in one day.

The Dow broke through yesterday’s R2 resistance level of 12,167.54 (see technical chart below). Despite four straight days of advances, the Dow is still 100 points down for the month.
