Don’t forget to vote for your favorites. This unlike, the Academy Awards, is voted by the viewers and consumers of the films. So it will be interesting to see who will win. I suspect a few awards to go to Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

Disturbia

(Best Syndication) The movie “Disturbia” knocked off “Blades of Glory” at the box office over the weekend. The Dreamworks film is being called a peeping-tom thriller staring Shia LaBeouf, Sarah Roemer, and Carrie-Anne Moss. The movie grossed $23 million its first weekend out.

The story is about a young man who becomes sullen after the death of his father, and is later put under house arrest by the court. The young man becomes a voyeur and begins to suspect a neighbor of being a serial killer. The movie keeps you guessing whether his suspicions are real or a figment of his imagination.

(Best Syndication) The movie “Blades of Glory” was the big winner at box-office for the second week in a row. The comedy stars Will Ferrell and Jon Heder (you may remember him as Napoleon Dynamite) as competing singles ice skaters who were stripped of their gold medals and banned from men’s single competition. Later the duo finds a loophole and qualifies as a pairs team. There are some cameo appearances in the movie including Jenna Fisher and Nancy Carrigan.

“Meet the Robinsons” took the number two spot again this weekend. This was animated movie’s second week at the box office. This is a story about an inventor who developed a Memory Scanner machine to help him find his birth mother. But before he can use the device, it is stolen by the Bowler Hat Guy. The story revolves around his quest to get that machine back and a family called the Robinsons.
