American Idol Greatest Moments CD

Tony Bennett coached the final 9 contestants this week on American Idol and the singers sang 1950’s crooner songs for their performances.

Sanjaya Malakar is still being targeted for the vote for the worst website, as the American Idol judges try to sugar coat their remarks so that he won’t get the votes from the anti-american idol fans. It is hard to say if he will make it with everyone giving him the best performance ever rating. VFTW website is still picking on Sanjaya for worst performance last night.

The best performances last night were Blake Lewis, Melinda Doolittle, Lakisha Jones and Jordin Sparks. Lakisha rallied last night and did an outstanding performance. Blake is the best male performer on American Idol this season. Jordin is only 17 years old, and yet she is holding her own well on stage.

[Best Syndication] Paulina Porizkova and her partner Alec Mazo made their exit last week as the couple that was voted off on last week’s “Dancing with the Stars”. They were not the lowest scoring dance couple either, but possibly didn’t have the fans that the other dancers did.

Last night’s competition was entertaining and memorable with Joey Fatone dancing to another theme this week, this time it is with Star Wars and he does the tango while swinging his lightsaber. He also had a disco night theme on his first performance.

Laili Ali and Maksim Chmerkovskiy broke a rule in dancing the tango by separating. They danced their tango to the Goldfinger tune, the audience still loved it. They didn’t score as well taking a total of 21.

American Idol says goodbye to Chris Sligh on Last Nights Results Show

Sanjaya Malakar - Fox

[Best Syndication] American Idol has captured the voters that both love and hate the show and has created a unique unpredictable competition that in all the other seasons. Last night Chris Sligh was voted off the show. Gwen Stefani, the mentor this week, performed on the show.

Rumours are swirling around the internet that said Sanjaya is in first place for the number of votes he has received. However, despite that loathing that people have for Sanjaya, we have to remember that there are a lot of tween girls out there that have a crush on him. Sanjaya has added another dimension to the show, mostly with his wacky hairdos. Some critics of the show worry that he might actually win American Idol. If he did, I am sure voice and dance lessons could propel this kid into a star. He seems likeable, and this could be a great boon for his future career in the music industry.

[Best Syndication] Humorous, is what I would describe last night’s show. I guess the theme for last night’s American Idol show was all about Gwen Stefani and songs she would sing. How do you copy someone like Gwen?

Sanjaya Malakar showed up tonight with a mock Mohawk hairdo in an attempt to channel Gwen Stefani. I think he was even bothered by his hairdo and missed his song by a long shot. Malakar sang No Doubt's “Bathwater” and was shaky and unsure, and even missed some of the words. I think he was not in his element tonight.

But will Malakar get voted off on tonight’s results show? Well, there is more to this competition than just talent. Howard Stern, the radio jockey, has sent out the radar for American Idol haters to vote in the worst performer to make them the winner. Another issue is that Malakar has a tween following that can keep him around a little bit longer too. And that poor person on the hunger strike who wants to see an end to Malakar on the show; well she is going to be getting very, very hungry.
