(Best Syndication News) - Dr. Andrew Weil was a guest on today's ‘The Dr. Oz Show.’ He came on the TV show to listed some foods that help reduce inflammation. He also shared on supplements, foods, and products that could protect the brain, lungs, and heart. Dr. Weil is an author or several books including, "8 Weeks to Optimum Health: A Proven Program for Taking Full Advantage of Your Body's Natural Healing Power."

Dr. Andrew Weil is a physician. He said that he did not learn prevention in medical school. When he was getting older, he was not feeling so well, so he started to learn alternative medicinal treatments. He stopped eating meat, started meditating among other things, which had made him feel better. During his investigation into medicinal treatments worldwide, he found many great cures and some that were nonsense. When he shared what he learned with his colleagues, they did not share his enthusiasm. He calls the combined traditional medicine with alternative treatments and therapies integrated medicine. Dr. Weil’s integrated medicine will help people to learn to eat better and to handle stress. Dr. Weil explained that he hopes one day they drop the word integrative and just call it good medicine.

(Best Syndication News) Doctor Mehmet C Oz told his studio audience that they may be worried for the wrong reasons on Thursday’s show. There are some myths concerning cancer and he wanted to set the record straight.

Cancer is the second leading cause of death. He said that the doctors aren’t telling the lies, but we are “telling each other’.

Big Lie #1: You Don’t Have Cancer

“We all have microscopic cancers growing inside of us all of the time,” Dr William Li, MD, a cancer researcher and pioneer, told Oz. There are 50 trillion cells in our body and all it takes is one cell to mutate.

Our immune system fights these cells every day. Also, our body naturally prevents blood vessels from growing into and feeding cancers.

These non-traditional therapies include acupuncture, pain and stress management along with nutrition. Some patients may find relief with yoga.

Doctor Mehmet Oz brought three cancer experts onto his show Friday. Doctor Steven Standiford, MD, surgeon at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Doctor Deborah Axelrod, MD, a director at the NYU Cancer Institute, and nutritionist Rachel Beller, RD spoke to Dr Oz Friday.

(Best Syndication News) - The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced a potential associated increased risk of saline and silicone gel-filled breast implants and a rare anaplastic large cell lymphoma cancer. The increased risk is small said the FDA, but at the same time is significant.

The FDA is asking health care professionals to report any women that have been diagnosed with anaplastic large cell lymphoma cancer so they can further evaluate this potential risk for ALCL cancer and breast implants. Because of the potential cancer risk, the FDA will be working with breast implant manufacturing companies to include notices of the cancer risk.

The National Cancer Institute said that ALCL is diagnosed in 1 out of 500,000 women each year. ALCL found in breast tissue is diagnosed 3 out of every 100 million in women without breast implants every year.

(Best Syndication News) - According to recent study, the exact opposite an “un-growth” hormone showed anti-aging potential. The compound is called MZ-5-156 and is a growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) antagonist. The study results were published in the online December 6th edition of the National Academy of Sciences.

John E. Morley, M.D., study co-investigator and director of the divisions of geriatric medicine and endocrinology at Saint Louis University School of Medicine said that older people taking growth hormone supplements to reverse aging may actually “be hazardous”.

The researchers studied a SAMP8 mouse model for aging and they discovered that the MZ-5-156 had showed a beneficial outcome for oxidative stress in the brain. This helped the mice have better cognition and the telomerase activity was improved. The mice also had an increased life span while at the same time decreasing the amount of tumors. The MZ-5-156 also has been found in other research to repress prostate, breast, brain and lung cancer in humans. In addition there has been research that have measured improvement on short-term memory and improved learning. In this study, the MZ-5-156 created an antioxidant action that reduced oxidative stress and reversed cognitive damage in the mice as they aged.
