Amazon Cloud Player expands on Supported Devices and Features

(Best Syndication News) - New features were added to the Amazon Cloud Player software app. Amazon also has reached many licensing agreements with music companies for their Cloud Player. Amazon will soon be adding Roku and Sonus to the supported devices offering their service.

Amazon announced today that they have reached licensing agreements with Sony Music Entertainment, EMI Music, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, and over 150 independent distributors, aggregators, and music publishers for their Cloud Player service.

A new feature in the Amazon Cloud Player includes a history of MP3 purchases made with Amazon. Any Amazon MP3 purchases will automatically be saved to the Cloud Player at no extra cost to the customer.

(Best Syndication News) - Actress, Kate Hudson, will be returning as Ann Taylor’s face for fall 2012. Hudson is the first celebrity spokesperson that has been with the company for three seasons in a row.

Famous photographer, Tom Munro, took the fall fashion photos of Hudson. Hudson wore some of her favorites from the collection and posed for the photos at the Craven Estate in Pasadena, California. The fall fashions reflects the modern woman, but at the same time were inspired by the glamor of 1960's Paris.

The clothing will have animal prints, and bold, vibrant colors. The 2012 fall line will become available at Ann Taylor stores and online at anntaylor.com in mid-August. In Toronto, Canada, the fall line will be available in October 2012.

Amazon Prime Instant Videos to add Warner Bros. TV shows

(Best Syndication News) - Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) announced that they have reached an agreement with Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution to add popular TV shows such as Fringe and The West Wing to the Prime Instant Video library.

Other shows included in this agreement include Dark Blue, Alcatraz, and The Whole Truth.

DirecTV drops 17 Viacom Networks - Includes Nick, MTV, VH1, Comedy Central and more

(Best Syndication News) - DirecTV said that they were unable to reach an agreement with Viacom to keep their channels on the air while they negotiate a new contract. The channels that DirecTV pulled from the air include Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central, and 14 other channels.

Viacom is reporting that 26 channels have been removed off DirecTV’s service. However, this is counting the HDTV and regular versions, which are airing the same content. The channels that were removed are Palladia, Centric, Tr3s, CMT, Logo, NickToons, VH1 Classic, TeenNick, Nick Jr., Nick@Nite, Spike, BET, VH1, TV Land, Comedy Central, Nick, and MTV.

Andy Griffith dies at home in North Carolina

(Best Syndication News) - Actor, Andy Griffith died today at his home in North Carolina. He was 86. The actor is most known for the 1960’s TV series, The Andy Griffith Show, and for the 1980’s and 90’s TV series Matlock.

In the 1950’s, Griffith started his entertainment career in music and was a regular on the Ed Sullivan Show and the Steve Allen Show. He also acted on Broadway and had acted in films before he became known for his role as Andy Taylor on The Andy Griffith Show, which started airing in 1960 and ran through 1968.
