AT&T U-Verse TV reaches agreement with AMC Networks while DISH Network switches to HDNet Movies

(Best Syndication News) - Both DISH Network and AT&T U-Verse TV have been trying to come to an agreement with AMC Networks. AT&T U-Verse TV reached an agreement to continue to carry the AMC Network channels. DISH Network on the other hand, did not reach an agreement and have dropped AMC from their channel lineup, which includes AMC, IFC, and WE tv channels.

AT&T announced that they have reached a reasonable distribution agreement with AMC Networks to continue to carry AMC, IFC, Sundance, and WE tv channels. The two companies arrived at the agreement this Sunday, July 1.

Ann Curry replaced by Savannah Guthrie on NBC’s ‘TODAY’

(Best Syndication News) - A dramatic exit for Ann Curry as co-anchor happened on Thursday on NBC’s ‘TODAY’ TV show. On Friday, Savannah Guthrie was filling in for Curry’s co-anchor position on the TV show.

Curry gave a tearful goodbye on Thursday as she said she will no longer be co-anchor on the show. Curry will still be reporting, but has been deemed a reporter at large for the 'TODAY' show, and will also be a corresponding reporter for NBC News.

Guthrie has been co-hosting the 9 o’clock hour since August 2011. Guthrie also has been NBC's chief legal analyst. She has been with the network since 2007. She was officially introduced as the permanent replacement for Ann Curry on Friday’s show.

AT&T U-Verse TV and Dish Network threaten to drop AMC Networks starting July 1

(Best Syndication News) - AT&T U-Verse TV announced that their contract with AMC Networks is due to expire at the end of the day on June 30, 2012. Another provider, Dish Network, also failed at negotiating an agreement and said that they will also end playing AMC Networks on their satellite service this weekend. If agreements can be reached, the AMC network of channels might stay put.

AT&T said that they have tried to negotiate a fair agreement to air the channels, which include AMC, IFC, and WE tv. AT&T also said that AMC Networks is asking almost twice as much as what other networks are paid.

Target stocks “The Amazing Spider-Man” Themed Products at their Stores

(Best Syndication News) - Target Corp. (NYSE:TGT) announced that their stores have a variety of merchandise themed with this summer’s film, “The Amazing Spider-Man.”

The licensed products will include toys, clothing, bedding, and movies. Target has set up a special online boutique featuring all of the Spider-Man products located at target.com/spiderman.

In Target stores, shoppers will find Spider-Man graphics and displays throughout the store. The retailer also will be promoting the Spider-Man merchandise with a video advertisement.

Included in the product line-up are a Spider-Man inflatable chair, a Spider-Man themed piñata, and more party supplies. There will be apparel with displaying the comic book characters.

Kellogg’s Breakfast Cereal Ad has Guillermo from Jimmy Kimmel Live

(Best Syndication News) - Guillermo, from the Jimmy Kimmel Live TV show was in a Kellogg's Crunchy Nut breakfast cereal. The superhero has been part of a new marketing campaign to get the word out about their breakfast cereal brand.

The tie-in with Jimmy Kimmel Live may be the new way to market products, because many people record TV shows and skip through commercials. Therefore, product placements within the TV show concept will more than likely become commonplace in the years to come.

To further market the breakfast cereal, Kellogg's have hit the street and have been posting updates on their Facebook page to get the word out about their newest superhero character.

The Crunchy Nut superhero has been driving around the streets in a yellow delivery vehicle with a giant honey dipper on top. His mission is to get rid of boring breakfasts with a bowl of Kellogg's® Crunchy Nut™ cereal.
