(Best Syndication News) - Home sales volume in Southern California are on a decline for the month of October, 2010, according to MDA DataQuick survey. The survey also found that housing prices remained about the same. There was a total of 16,744 homes sold in Southern California which was 24.3 percent reduction from October 2009 numbers.

The Southern California homes included in this survey include the counties of Los Angeles, Riverside, San Diego, Ventura, San Bernardino, and Orange. The median pricing for the homes sold was $284,500 for the October 2010 which is up by a mere 1.1 percent from $280,000 from the previous year at the same time.

The National Association of Realtors (NAR) says that the biggest obstacles that the housing market faces now are job creation and access to financing a mortgage loan. They said that these factors are even more critical than the current trend of mortgage interest rates increasing.

(Best Syndication News) - Fannie Mae's National Housing Survey found a mixed response from the outlook of Americans on housing and home-ownership. The survey asked both homeowners and renters in the United States how they felt about the housing market.

Those surveyed felt that it was a buyers market with most of them believing the housing prices have reached the bottom. There was 47 percent that believed that housing prices will remain the same while 31 percent of the surveyed Americans thought that housing pricing will increase over the next 12 months. There was a majority of 70 percent of American in the Fannie Mae survey that felt that this was a good time to purchase real estate. The last Fannie Mae survey on housing had a 64 percent thinking it was a good time to buy a home.

(Best Syndication News) - According to a report issued by MDA DataQuick, there was a slight decline in median housing sold in Southern California. The median home prices dipped for in both June and in July. Sales of home declined from the previous year. In June 2010 home sales were down by 20.6 percent compared to the same time in 2009, and there was a 21.4 percent decline in housing sales for the month of July 2010 compared to the year before.

In July 2010 there was a total of 18,946 homes sold in Los Angeles, Riverside, San Diego, Ventura, San Bernardino and Orange counties. In July 2009, for the same counties there was 24,104 homes sold both new and resale homes. Slow sales in 2007, were at 17,867 homes being sold and in July of 1995 there was only 16,225 homes sold.

MDA Data Quick believes that the turbulent economy, as well as the expiring homebuyer tax credit were both contributing to the decline in sales numbers.
