7-Eleven celebrates 85 years of business with a Free Slurpee this Wednesday

(Best Syndication News) - On Wednesday, July 11th, 7-Eleven will be giving out free Slurpee drinks at participating locations between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. local time. The convenience chain store is celebrating 85 years since they first opened.

This is not the first time that 7-Eleven has given out free slurpees to celebrate their birthday. They have been doing this for quite a few years. The Slurpee drink has been around for 45 years. This month, 7-Eleven is introducing a Fanta Sugar-Free Strawberry Banana Slurpee and a Fanta Lemon Crème flavor. A sugar-free Slurpee is a new offering at 7-Eleven.

Frontier Airlines assist customers traveling through Colorado Springs with Fee Waiver to Change Flight

(Best Syndication News) - Due to the devastating wildfires raging near Colorado Springs, Frontier Airlines is offering travelers scheduled for flights to, from, or through Colorado Springs between June 27 and July 4, 2012 an opportunity to change their itinerary with no fee.

This is limited to travelers who have already begun their flights and are allowed one itinerary change. The typical rule and restrictions of change fees, advance purchase, day or time applications, blackouts, and minimum or maximum stay requirements have been waived. The flight itinerary must keep the origin and destination cities the same to qualify for the fee waiver.

(Best Syndication News) - The Union Pacific Corporation (NYSE: UNP) is celebrating 150 years since they first got the approval from President Abraham Lincoln to build the transcontinental railway line. To commemorate this event, they have put together a free ebook and an interactive website that discusses the long history of the company.

The railroad line all started on July 1, 1862, when President Abraham Lincoln signed the Pacific Railway Act into law. It was not until May 10, 1869 when the golden spike ceremony was held to officially connect the two railroad tracks in Promontory Summit, Utah. This first railroad line operated until 1904. That was when it was replaced with the Lucin Cutoff.

Greyhound offers $1 Bus Fare for East Coast Travelers affected by Bus Company Closures

(Best Syndication News) - Greyhound along with Peter Pan Bus Lines and Adirondack Trailways are offering a $1 bus fare for customers that have purchased tickets with bus carriers that have been closed by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).

The $1 fares are only for those travelers who have purchased tickets from the 26 defunct bus lines before May 31, 2012 and they are valid for travel from June 1 through June 16, 2012. To get the discounted tickets, travelers must purchase them at Greyhound terminals. Peter Pan Bus Lines, and Adirondack Trailways may have similar requirements.

FAA grants Scaled Composites permit to Launch Suborbital SpaceShipTwo and WhiteKnightTwo

(Best Syndication News) - Virgin Galactic announced that their vehicle developer, Scaled Composites (Scaled), was given the OK by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to launch a suborbital spacecraft named SpaceShipTwo and the carrier aircraft named WhiteKnightTwo. Virgin Galactic is the world’s first commercial spaceline that has the goal of taking private travelers into space.

"This important milestone enables our team to progress to the rocket-powered phase of test flight, bringing us a major step closer to bringing our customers to space," said George Whitesides, president and CEO of Virgin Galactic. "We thank the FAA for their timely issuance of this permit, and for their responsible oversight of the test program."
