(Best Syndication News) - AT&T announced that they would be using up to 30 percent of a plant-based plastic that is made from ethanol to package the company’s accessory products. The plant-based plastic is made from natural sugarcane, which is a renewable resource, and replaces almost a third of the packaging that would have been used with fossil fuels.

AT&T has had an ongoing effort to make their product packaging more environmentally friendly. In March 2010, they initially announced plans to reduce the packaging for their accessories. In 2010 and 2011 these changes alone had saved over 500 tons of paper and plastic.

Two Moons Theory suggested by Scientists

Two Moons - BSN

(Best Syndication News) - Earth may have had two moons at one point in time, according to a new theory being suggested by scientists from the University of California, Santa Cruz. The theory is presented in the current issue of the journal Nature.

The second moon was believed to be one-thirteenth the size of the moon we have today. The scientists believe that the two moons could have shared the same orbit, but at some point they collided. This collision created 10 Kilometers of extra crust on near-side of the moon. The other moon disintegrated, but left the current moon with a dichotomy; which is a flat area on the near side and mountain rocky areas on the far-side.

In the US, Doctor Oz explained, around 80 percent of all packaged foods contain Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO). There is currently a project to develop and sell GMO Salmon for human consumption; but that will need FDA approval first.

Oz explained that 20 years ago the food-supply chain was radically changed when genetically engineered foods were first introduced. New super crops were genetically modified when one genetic component was spliced into the DNA of another.
