(Best Syndication) Research back in 1996 showed that the small implantable radio-frequency microchips can cause cancer. Scientists began testing the chips on lab rats and mice, and in most cases the cancerous “sarcomas” tumors would encased the microchip. This is potentially bad news for market leader and manufacturer, VeriChip Corp, who hopes to implant millions of Americans with these devices.

The small RFIDs (radio frequency Identification Device) have been controversial from the start. There have been 2,000 humans implanted so far. The report from AP says that Republican Presidential candidate Tommy Thompson was the Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary when the device was going though the FDA approval process.

[Best Syndication] Blu-ray Disc format has been leading the high-definition video market recently, but HD DVD format may have a second chance to win out with two studios supporting their format. Paramount and DreamWorks will begin supporting HD DVD format exclusively starting next week.

Movie blockbusters such as Blades of Glory, Transformers, and Shrek the Third will be released on HD DVD as well as traditional DVD format. The benefit to using the HD DVD format is that these high definition players are considerably less expensive.

DreamWorks did some release of Blu-ray Disc format as well as HD DVD format earlier this year for Flags of Our Fathers and Dreamgirls. The two first Shrek movies have not been release on high-definition format yet.

42 Inch Plasma TV Stand in Glass and Aluminum Finish RTA TV-002

Unless you’re mounting your new 42 inch LCD TV on the wall or on the ceiling, you’ll need a solid and reliable stand to support it. Many TVs come furnished with an appropriate stand, but some require that the stand be purchased separately. If the manufacturer furnishes your 42 inch LCD TV stand, and it meets your needs in terms of styling, you’re in great shape. Because your 42 inch LCD TV could become an integral part of the room’s decorating scheme, though, you may choose to purchase a stand that matches the needs of your viewing habits, your home, and your sense of style.

Because a 42 inch LCD TV is reasonably heavy, the most important requirement is that any stand must handle the weight of your particular 42 inch LCD TV and must provide a stable base in case it’s bumped or jarred. For that reason, make sure the stand you purchase meets the unique weight and strength requirements of the 42 inch LCD TV you purchased. The last thing you want to have happen is for your new TV to become damaged simply because your stand wasn’t up to the task. The owner’s manual for your 42 inch LCD TV will specify all the requirements of a suitable and effective TV stand for that model.
