The Genesis of President Bush’s New Freedom Commission on Mental Health

The Genesis of President Bush’s New Freedom Commission on Mental Health

Screening for mental illness is the most controversial topic concerning mental health today. Various government entities, private foundations, organizations, think tanks and universities, all flanked by cunning public relations firms, are hard at work trying to make mental health screening as common as a dental checkup. Despite public outrage over screening, these entities are working feverishly to establish this system. With so much clamor of disagreement for such a program, why, then, do these entities push forward with such ferocity? This article reveals exactly how this all got started, who’s really behind “the big push,” and how President Bush was tricked into establishing what might be the most detrimental program in the history of mankind.

Were Hezbollah Guerillas Defeated? Who Started the Conflict? – War Between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon

President Bush says that Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have defeated Hezbollah guerillas. Many pundits have been saying that much of the Arab world views this as a victory for Hezbollah. They claim the small rebel force was able to stand-up to the strongest army in the Middle East.

The President said “Hezbollah attacked Israel. Hezbollah started the crisis, and Hezbollah suffered a defeat in this crisis.” He said this at the State Department after a day of meetings with his top defense, diplomatic and national security advisers.

60 Minutes Interview - Americans Lack Empathy for Middle Eastern People – Iranian President Speaks Out

The Los Angeles CBS affiliate reported that a dozen members of a “militant” Jewish group picketed outside their studios Sunday, in protest of the 60 Minutes interview with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Ari Rubin, director of the Jewish Defense League in Los Angeles said “There's no possible reason to whitewash or glorify” the Iranian President.

What did people expect the President of Iran to say on 60 Minutes; that it is OK for Israel to inhabit land that was inhabited by their fellow Muslims? A previous Chairman of the JDL, Irv Rubin, was arrested by the federal government on charges of conspiring to blow up the King Fahd mosque in Los Angeles as well the office of Arab-American congressman, Darryl Issa.

Is UN Resolution 1701 One Sided? Is Israel getting A better Deal than Hezbollah?

alt text

The United Nations Security Council passed UN Resolution 1701 on August 11th calling for the cessations of all hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel. While not explicitly stating that Hezbollah disarm, it does imply it, according to the Centre for Research on Globalization (CRG).

The resolution calls for Israel to stop "all offensive military operations" without defining what that means or making a comparable disarmament demand on the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). It leaves the option open for Israel to respond if, in its judgment, it faces what it believes is an imminent threat.

No Biblical Basis for Modern Zionism

No Biblical Basis for Modern Zionism

The best way for Israel to stop terrorist attacks in its territory is by first ceasing its occupation of all Arab land it captured in the 1967 War which, admittedly, Israel did out of self-defense. Israel was correct in defending itself.

However, the issue now is no longer so much self-defense. The problem is that Israel will not pull back to its pre-1967 borders so long as many Israelis and most evangelical Christians in America continue to believe that present day Jews have a biblical right to all of Arab territory in Palestine. For this reason a biblical examination of the issue is necessary.

As an evangelical Christian, of Indian origin, I wish to set the biblical issue in proper perspective. Comment on this Article on our Forum

Although the modern state of Israel now has every right to exist as any other nation (and all need to respect and honor this fact) this does not mean that Zionism ( the belief that Jews have a biblical right to all of Palestine ) is correct. And it is Zionism that is primarily fueling the building and expansion of Jewish settlements on Arab land.
