Tai Chi Classes to Commence at Kurrajong Natural Medicine Centre

Kurrajong Natural Medicine Centre, at Kurrajong, in the Blue Mountains, north-west of Sydney is starting Tai Chi Classes on the 19th of October.

What is Tai Chi?

Tai Chi is an integral part of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), providing a means to balance the mind, body and spirit. Tai Chi is a martial art and involves slow, precise movements combined with breathing to strengthen the body, focus the mind and activate the body's Qi. It is used as a form of exercise in China and has gained increased popularity as a form of exercise in the west.

Tai Chi is however much more than mere exercise. Many practitioners of Chinese medicine use Tai Chi to help them focus and direct the Qi, which they use when practicing acupuncture. In addition, Tai Chi can also be use as a form of self-defense. It is a martial art and many consider it to be superior to Karate.

Exercise Pioneer Jack LaLanne celebrates 95th Birthday

[Best Syndication News] Jack LaLanne is a pioneer for having an exercise TV show back in the 1950's. LaLanne is still in great shape as he celebrates his 95th birthday. He turned 95 on September 26th but had a public celebration in San Francisco. He is also out promoting a new book he has written called “Live Young Forever.”

LaLanne's exercise TV show aired between 1951 and 1985.

LaLanne was in San Francisco to celebrate his birthday because that is were he made did some of his dangerous physical stunts. He was born and raised in the city and is a part of the San Francisco history. When he was 41 years old he swam from Alcatraz to the shore of the city all while being handcuffed. When he was 60 he swam it again handcuffed but he also towed a boat loaded full of weights.

Cheap season passes for the 2009/10 are now on sale according to Mt Baldy Ski Lifts.

“Buy a season pass now and get it at almost half price. It doesn’t get much better than that,” states Ron Ellingson, V.P. Marketing for Mt Baldy Ski Lifts in Southern California.

“This offer expires soon and our price will increase as we get closer to opening day. The price for season passes will not get any cheaper than it is today. Once we open for skiing there will not be any discounts on any season passes.”

The special discount lift ticket offer coincides with the installation of a new 9 million gallon reservoir that significantly increases Mt Baldy’s snow making capabilities.

1. Wall Squats

Wall squats are bodyweight squats you do while leaning against a wall. What you do is find a wall and lean your back perfectly straight on it. Then move your feet so they're about 18-20 inches out from the wall.

Then simply squat down until your upper thighs are below parallel to the ground. Do 4 sets of as many repetitions as you can.
