Wirefly announced a list of the most popular PDA cell phones and reports that there has been a sharp increase in the sales of Smartphones.  Wirefly is a popular website that is a comparison shopping site for cell phones and wireless phone plans.
 
Smartphones are cell phones with a built-in multi-capable operating system.  The sales of the Smartphones have grown 70% since the 3rd quarter of 2006 up until the 1st quarter of 2007.
 
Why are people buying Smartphones.  There have been more national advertising campaigns by the cell phone companies explaining the technology, and there has been more models coming out that are stylish and thinner.  There are also extra features such as built in music players.

(Best Syndication) The court decision today against Vonage may have far reaching effects in the industry. A jury in an Alexandria Virginia U.S. District Court ruled that Vonage violated three of five Verizon patents, and the upstart was told to pay 5.5% in royalties each month for each customer.

But this decision may not be enough for Verizon. According to a MarketWatch article by Jeffry Bartash, the company may seek an injunction to stop Vonage from using their patented technology. Plus, this decision opens the door for Verizon to seek damages from other providers of Net-based phone services.
