Pfizer Drug Approved For Treatment of Fibromyalgia – Symptoms Relieved Using Lyrica Capsules CV – Pain Management

Lyrica®

(Best Syndication) The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Thursday approved the drug Lyrica® (pregabalin) capsules CV for the management of fibromyalgia. Fiberomyalgia is a common chronic, widespread pain condition in the United States. The symptoms for Fibermyalgia include, but are not limited to, diffuse or specific muscle, joint, or bone pain, fatigue (see Videos Below).

It is believed that fibromyalgia is a result of neurological changes in how the patients perceive pain. Sufferers will have a heightened sensitivity to stimuli which are not normally painful. Lyrica binds with a specific protein within overexcited nerve cells and works to calm damaged nerves. The company admits that they are not sure exactly how the mechanism works.

Dr. Oz visited on Oprah TV show yesterday and discussed a number of topics. One topic that he discussed and also demonstrated on Oprah was acupressure.

Acupressure is similar to acupuncture. Instead of using needles to trigger the nerves and energy flow in the body, you can use your fingers to apply pressure to different areas in your body to achieve similar results.

Acupressure is an ancient Fareast medicine. The idea is that there are energy lines called meridians in the body that can become disrupted or blocked. By triggering certain parts in the energy system you could restore energy flow in the body. While Western medicine does not practice energy medicine, Dr. Oz says that our current medical system haven’t been able to measure energy in the body, and that may be why it isn’t acknowledged.

Balancing out our dietary intake of fatty acids can help in clinical depression and some kinds of inflammatory diseases according to a report published online in the journal, Psychosomatic Medicine.

The researchers say that Americans eat way to much omega-6 than they do omega-3 fatty acid. On average an American eats a 20-to-1 ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids. The researchers say that it should be more like 4-to-1 or even better a 2-to-1 ratio.

The Ohio State University researchers completed a long series of experiments to see if there are any relationships between psychological stress and immunity. They also added dietary questions to the studies to see how that would play a role in a person’s health.

The most effective treatment for fibromyalgia is exercise. Which seems totally weird, because most people with fibromyalgia hurt worse and are more fatigued after exercise, and they may feel that way for days. The key is the right amount of the right kinds of exercise.

If you are new to exercising within the constraints of fibromyalgia, it may be helpful to enlist the help of a trainer, physical therapist or exercise physiologist to design a program specifically for you. Every person with fibromyalgia has a different exercise capacity, so you need an individualized program.
