Dog Bites and Other Domestic Animal Attacks

Dogs have been domesticated for thousands of years, and are for the most part friendly and companionable. Dogs, and other domesticated animals however, are largely governed by instincts that cause them to revert to their historically more dangerous nature when threatened or provoked.

There are hundreds of thousands of cases of dog bites in the United States annually, with many of the victims being young children. Younger victims may not know how to behave around dogs and other domesticated animals and are less able to defend themselves in case of attack.

[Best Syndication] The Today show aired a competition against the frugal cheap guy and the coupon clipping mom. Both are interested in saving money and they had a competition on the show about a week ago seeing who could get the best deals on groceries.

The coupon clipping mom hosts a website called couponmom.com. She has a website that links that advertised and non-advertised prices of major grocery stores in your area and match them to the coupons in the newspaper as well as online. She cleaned up with the competition and explained that for her $100 worth of groceries she would have regularly spent $300.

The frugal cheap guy took his $100 grocery shopping first to the 99 cents only store and picked up some canned goods. Then he went to Costco to buy in bulk. His pile was not as big as the coupon mom’s. He joked at the end of the competition with fake blood.

My life has been one great big joke,
    A dance that's walked
    A song that's spoke,
I laugh so hard I almost choke
    When I think about myself.
    — Maya Angelou

Thousands of members of The Red Hat Society live by the motto that growing older can be one big joke if you want it to be. The Red Hat Society (www.redhatsociety.com) is an international organization for women, aged 50 and over, who like to laugh at growing older. There are now roughly 2000 chapters of the society, first started in 1998, in 11 countries. All chapters have frivolous names, such as Whine and Roses. Best of all, there are no rules to follow.

This weekend, the nationally syndicated Animal Radio® airs coverage of the very controversial African elephant move from the Anchorage Alaska Zoo to her new home at PAWS (Performing Animal Welfare Society) near Sacramento, California.

“Maggie” has been in the news ever since she fell ill over a year ago. After much deliberation, the 8,000 lb elephant was granted permission to retire in the lower 48.

Joining Animal Radio® is U.S. Air Force Capt. Kelley Jeters describing aspects of the 8-hour flight on a C-17 Transport. Capt. Jeters said “they prepared Maggie by playing a tape of the airplane engines several weeks prior to the big-trip.”
