(Best Syndication News) SACRAMENTO - Assemblyman Anthony Adams (R-Hesperia) today voiced strong opposition to legislation passed by Assembly Democrats that will endanger families throughout California. Their plan paves the way for the early release of thousands of dangerous criminals into communities across the state before they have completed their sentences.

"Our prison system is fundamentally broken because we have refused to deal with the problem of overcrowding for decades," said Assemblyman Adams. "It is the responsibility of State government to enact laws that protect the public and this bill does just the opposite; putting law-abiding Californians at risk by releasing dangerous criminals back into our communities."

Patient controlled analgesia pumps have become a popular option for patients following surgery since they provide patients with more rapid distribution of pain medication. The computerized devices allow patients to personally control the administration of their pain medication, eliminating the need to call on a nurse to complete this task.

PCA pumps are controlled by a hand-held button that is connected to the device. Patients simply press the button and the pump will deliver a controlled dosage of pain medication intravenously. The medications most commonly used in PCA pumps are synthetic opiates such as morphine and Demerol.

The antibiotic Gentamicin has been known to cause a drastically increased risk of inner ear damage and kidney problems in patients taking this drug. The antibiotic is used to treat bacterial infections affecting the skin, bone, lungs, joints, stomach, urinary tract, and blood, and it is generally administered intravenously or by injection.

Gentamicin is a very powerful antibiotic, and as a result, it frequently leads to the development of several harmful side effects. If your doctor suggests that you take Gentamicin to treat a health problem, it would be wise to inquire about alternative options before agreeing to take this dangerous drug.

The mesothelioma attorneys of Weitz & Luxenberg would like power plant workers and former power plant workers to be aware of their risk for developing mesothelioma, a cancer caused by exposure to asbestos. Asbestos is a cancer causing mineral that was widely used in many products. Some of these products include: pipes, cables, valves, pumps and turbines. Sadly, many of these products exist in power plants.

Asbestos containing products are a threat to human life when they are disturbed. Disturbance can occur by activities such as cutting or hammering. These activities can cause asbestos containing products to release cancer causing asbestos fibers into the air. Asbestos fibers are not visible to the naked eye and can remain suspended in the air for long periods. Suspended asbestos fibers can be inhaled by humans. Once asbestos fibers enter the body, they can enter the lungs and other organs of the body. The fibers can remain in the body indefinitely and lead to cancers such as asbestos lung cancer and mesothelioma decades later.

The following is an expert answer given by Slip And Fall Case Lawyer, Joseph M. Maus, and taken from, a free Q & A service on the internet:

Question: I fell on a floor in the hospital while taking care of my brother. I hurt my back and knee pretty badly, but I did not go to the ER at that hospital till the following day. They took a bunch of x-rays and said nothing was broken, then referred me to see a back specialist. Is this worth pursuing anymore? I can walk and do not have too much pain except for when my back has a spasm. There was definitely something wet on the floor when I slipped.

Answer: The answer to your question is that you may have a claim.  It depends on the State you live in, and laws that may apply to your claim.  I am an attorney in Florida specializing in car accident, slip and fall (premises liability)and workers comp claims.  Laws vary from state to state so the law in Florida may be different than your state.  In Florida, you probably have a claim, but you should consult with an experienced personal injury lawyer in your area to find out what laws may apply to your claim.
