[Best Syndication News] No shopping, no spending, no wasting is what today’s Oprah Winfrey Show was all about. It was about making your life simpler and having less could be more in the long run. Oprah opens by saying having the best things doesn’t mean that you are having your best life. She said that they got the idea when Suze Orman asked the viewers on a previous show to take a pledge on a previous show. Orman asked those that are financially strapped to not to spend money for one day, for one week to use a credit card, and for one month not to eat at restaurants.

How the Suze Orman Pledge worked for One Family

Jennifer and David from South Carolina took the pledge and have been doing it for 3 weeks. They managed to not eat out for 3 weeks; the eating out they said was the hard thing. Not spending money for a day they said was pretty easy. They said that they have stopped using their credit cards altogether. They couple continue to say that when you eat at home you have more time to visit with the kids and watch a movie together. The past summer she stopped working and moved to a one income with her husband as she starts her new business. She said that Orman hit home with her that they need to live like a one income family even when they make the two incomes again.

[Best Syndication News] Oprah begins her show today saying that the number one health concern with teens is weight. They got 16 obese teens on the ‘Oprah Winfrey Show’ to participate in an intervention. This is part one of the show, and tomorrow, Dr. Oz will be on to give tips on eating healthy and exercising for the teens.

Jessica is 14 and weighs 200 pounds. She is upset about her weight. Raven is 12 years old and is 190 pounds. Her mom had brain surgery and she said it has been stressful. Christian, 17, weighs 354 pounds said it is hard because she sees other girls that are thin that have boyfriends and are popular. Nick, 16, weighs 385 pounds and he was in tears and wants to be different and be able to do regular things. Jillian, 17, weighs 315 pounds. Stephanie, 17, weighs 300 pounds and she is in her senior year and won’t go to dances. Josh, 18, said he ways around 600 pounds and can’t weigh in because the scale only goes up to 350 pounds. He said he had no one to go to and so he went to food for comfort.

[Best Syndication News] Financial help is on the way today with day 4 of the Best Life Week on Oprah. Oprah had financial expert, Suze Orman who is coaching us on our financial action plan for 2009. In addition to this wonderful show today, Suze Orman is offering a free copy of her new book to download called, Suze Orman’s 2009 Action Plan.

Suze Orman starts the show by saying we have got to be honest about our financial situation. Orman said that the number one thing that they lie about is how much credit card debt they actually have. Orman asked the audience members to stand up if they have any kinds of debt; practically the whole audience was standing up. She then asked the audience members to tell the person standing next to them how much debt they have.

Before the show they did a 225 people that have credit card debt. In that room they had approximately $2,295,411.40 of combined credit card debt in the Oprah’s audience. Wow! Oprah added that is why our economy is in trouble. Orman emphasized the importance of paying off your credit card debt first.

[Best Syndication News] Oprah said that spirituality means being connected and feeling alive. Oprah wanted everyone to take a deep breath to get yourself in the present moment. Oprah had Rev. Michael Bernard Beckwith is the author of "Spiritual Liberation," and Elizabeth Lesser founder of the Omega Institute and author of “The Seekers Guide” and “Broken Open.” Also on the show today is Rev. Ed Bacon of the All Saint Episcopal Church in Pasadena.

Oprah asked each of her experts what they thought spirituality is.

Rev. Bacon he agrees with being connected. Give the power to be fully alive. He said that the doorway to the experience is to be unconditionally and fully loved.

Lesser, said that it’s an instinct that there is more to life than meets the eye. Spirituality is the fearlessness to ask the big questions. Who am I? What is my purpose in life? Where do you go when you die?

[Best Syndication New] Dr. Oz was on The Oprah Winfrey show for the Best Life Week. Oprah wants everyone to take notes on the show today that Dr. Oz provides. Today’s show was encouraging, because we got to see some success stories from past shows. There was also a lot of great practical information that Dr. Oz provided in the Ultimate Health Checklist for 2009 which was the basis of the show today. Dr. Oz along with co-author, Dr. Roizen have written several best selling books, the latest is "You: Being Beautiful."

The first story was for inspiration; Laura took the real age test on a show early last year. Her real age test was almost 60 (she is only 43) because smokes and doesn’t exercise. She has a lot of stress at work and at home. She has been smoking for 30 years. They showed her after the originally show that aired in February of 2008. They bring Laura back on the show today. In one year she has completely transformed her life. She has lost more than 40 pounds. Her new real age test is 41.7. She looked a whole lot healthier. Oprah had the cameras follow Laura to show what she does every day.
