Radiesse and
Restylane are injected fillers that are used to help remove wrinkles and
fill out the face. They are becoming more popular because the injections can last from six months all
the way up to two years. Another reason that Radiesse and Restylane
might be a better treatment than Botox is that they do not paralyze the
muscles to remove wrinkles.
Botox still is extremely popular
procedure for wrinkles in the face, as the cost for this procedure is
less expensive to go through. Botox treatments can work from four to
nine months with an average of six months for touch ups. The average
national cost for a Botox treatment is $387 according to The American
Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
According to The American Society
for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery there were 11.5 million cosmetic
procedures preformed in the United States last year. Botox treatments
were one of the top procedures with 3,294,782 people.
The average
cost of Restylane is $527 per procedure and lasts anywhere from 4 months
to 1 year based on the formulation of the Hyaluronic Acid. Radiesse
also known as Radiance costs on average $911 per procedure and can last
two years or longer, but each year there may be need for touch ups.
Unlike Botox that paralyzes muscles,
Radiesse and Restylane are both fillers that are slowly reabsorbed into
the body. Radiesse takes longer for the body to reabsorb the
filler compared to Restylane. All of these treatments have relatively few side effects and
are easy for a plastic surgeon to treat patients as there is no testing
for allergic reactions.
