Discount Cruise Vacation Packages - Websites offer Cheap Rates on Cruises

Celebrity Cruises Ship

If you ever thought about taking a vacation on a cruise ship this summer, you might want to check out the discount rates that are available for this type of travel.  There are numerous websites that are booking cruises for name brand ships at discounted rates.

There are a variety of cruises.  One cruise ship travels all the islands in Hawaii.  That way you can see all of Hawaii not just one island.  You can travel international locations or stay close to home.  If you like to see a lot of places and donít like the logistics of hotel rooms and driving from location to location you probably would enjoy a cruise ship.

You can book trips from 3 days up to 10 days in length.  If you want to travel on a budget you can get inside rooms that do not have a view of the ocean.  This offers the greatest discounts when taking a cruise.

One way to get a great discount is booking at the last minute.  The reason cruise ships discount at the last minute is that they will lose profit on the empty rooms.  Better to book it and make at little profit than none at all.

Another way to get a great discount is to travel off season.  That means when everyone else isnít traveling.  This can be great for seniors and people that have a flexible schedule as they can take advantage of big savings on booking a cruise during the off season.  Most people travel in the summer.  Thanksgiving and Christmas break can be another busy time.

You should shop for cruises on a number of travel websites.  The reason for this is that you will find they vary on rates and various promotions.  Some of the travel websites that specialize strictly in cruise vacations may be your best bet if you plan on going to a particular port because you live near it.  They have an easier search by port location.  They also offer more information on the cruise ships and travel promotions.  You can often get educated on the types of ships and what amenities are included.

You will want to compare Expedia and Priceline for their booking costs, especially if you plan to fly to the departure port of the ship.  It might be a better price with the bundled airline tickets.  It could also be possible to book the flight tickets separate from the cruise tickets if this offers the most savings.

The more information you can gather about the cruise the better.  If you look for Celebrity Cruises or Carnival you can visit their main website as well for complete information about their cruises and their ships.  Carnivalís website is a bit annoying because you need to register to get more information.  Celebrity gives you a great idea varying rates due to demand, which goes to show that when you travel is an important way to save money when you travel.

If it gets to complicated you can always stop in to your local travel agent for help.  They have a great amount of insight as to which cruise to take and what features are best when traveling on a cruise.
