Sony getting ready for PS3 Distribution

Sony will start receiving shipments of the Playstation 3 consoles this
month according to Taiwan’s XFN news story. Sony will be receiving
shipments from Asustek Computer who will help make the Playstation 3
consoles.
Sony will be selling the Playstation 3 beginning in November 17th,
2006, for the holiday shopping season. The price for the new
Playstation 3 will be US $499 for the model with a 20GB HDD, and US $599
with a 60GB HDD.
Sony Playstation 3 will be released in Japan one week earlier on
November 11th. The goal is to start getting ramped up to
distribute of the holiday season.
The new Sony Playstaion 3 will compete against Microsoft’s Xbox 360.
The PS3 is able to play back content from a Blu-ray (BD) disc at a rate
of 48Mbps without glitches. It will support the High Definition (HDTV)
televisions. There will be a new Playstation 3 game controller. The
controller is very precise and is more sensitive on a six axis
movement.
There is a Giga-bit Ethernet built in along with hard drive storage for
downloading games as well as playing on-line games over the network.
