The comedy sitcom called “The Facts
of Life” was on air from 1979 through 1988. The show was about an all
girl boarding school and dealing with every day life problems. The show
had many changes over the years from cast member changes, to location.
At one point they operated a bakery together.
The first year there was a cast of
seven school girl characters. To improve on ratings the show was
narrowed down to 4 girls, Blair, Jo, Natalie, and Tutti. Mrs. Garrett
was a spin off character from the other popular 80’s show, Different
Strokes.
In later season’s George Clooney was
a regular cast member of the show. Molly Ringwald was in the first
season of the show and was cut early on, she is well known for teen
movies in the 80’s.
On the NBC’s Today Show they had
Lisa Whelchel (Blair), Nancy McKeon (Jo), and Mindy Cohn (Natalie)
shared clips of the shows and reminisced about the 80’s. They showed a
younger George Clooney with big hair. They will also be on this evening
show of Entertainment Tonight.
It is hard to believe that these
shows are over 20 years old. The DVD of the season one and two are
being released to DVD today.
