Daytime Television show, “The View” gives co-host Star Jones Reynolds the Boot Early

Star Jones Reynolds, 44, got the boot earlier than expected from the popular daytime show called “The View.”  Barbara Walters announced this Wednesday saying “It is becoming uncomfortable for us to pretend that everything is the same at this table.  Therefore, regrettably, Star will no longer be on this program."

It was only on Tuesday that Reynolds announced that she will be leaving “The View” daytime TV show.  Originally her last day was to be through July 13th.  She has been a co-host on “The View” for 9 years.

Possibly the reason for the early departure from the show was do to the on air announcement of her leaving the show.  Star Jones Reynolds said on air yesterday, “After much prayer and counsel I feel like this is the right time to tell you that the show is moving in another direction for its 10th season, and I will not be returning as co-host next year."

According to E! online, that Reynolds was not to disclose the new that she was leaving the show until Thursday.  She couldn’t wait that long to tell everyone,  she probably was completely torn up by the news.

On Wednesday Reynolds called into the Ryan Seacrest L.A. morning radio show and said the following, "We had always planned to make the announcement this week.  We had planned to make it on Thursday. But I woke up on Tuesday morning and after so much media, so much speculation, it was time for me to say goodbye right now."

Rosie O’Donnell has already been slated to join the ladies on “The View” this fall to replace Meredith Vieira, who soon will be co-host on NBC's "Today" show.  According to a report by Reuters that Barbara Walters was sugar coating that all was well at the show.

Supposedly Star Jones Reynolds caused behind the scenes friction that caused for the show.  Possibly there was concern between possible tensions from outspoken Rosie O’Donnell and Star Jones Reynolds being on the same show together.  On “Good Morning America,” Rosie O'Donnell had passed judgment in a thinly veiled attempt which was directed at Star Jones Reynolds in which she disapproved on her quick weight loss.  Comment on this Article at our Forum

Reynolds told Ryan Seacrest on the L.A. morning radio show what she thought about Rosie O’Donnell.  Reynolds said, "Rosie insulted me.  She tried to damage me professionally and personally."

In an interview with People magazine, Star Jones Reynolds said, “I feel like I was fired.”  She was told the news only days before the media reports telling that her contract would not be renewed.

Best of luck to Star Jones Reynolds, she has a lot of guts to stand up to the stressful situation.  Reynolds did not like being fired, but who does, and who would want to prolong the agony.  You can’t blame her for cutting it short.
