New Cirque du Soleil show “Love” Opens Tonight at The Mirage

If you are going out to Las Vegas to
vacation any time soon, you will probably want to catch one of the new
shows in town. The Canadian acrobatic troupe, Cirque du Soleil, will
open a new show this Friday, called “Love.” This show will feature 130
different songs of The Beatles original recordings along with the 60
international Cirque du Soleil artists.
According to a Reuters report said
that the “Love” production began with a friendship that was formed with the late
George Harrison and the founder of Cirque du Soleil, Guy Laliberte. Cirque du Soleil has been working on the show for the past five years.
Cirque du Soleil performers will
have ‘Lucy’ fly on a trapeze in a sky filled with diamonds, depicting
The Beatles song, “Lucy in the sky with Diamonds.” There will be
‘psychedelic’ circus stiltwalkers and acrobats with a background of The
Beatles music filling the air.
The Mirage has built a custom
theatre for the Cirque du Soleil “Love” show. This 2,000 seat theatre
is unique with a 360˚ seating arrangement. Photos, film and video
footage of The Beatles will be projected panoramically as part of the
show. Surround sound
will further capture the audience with a collection of Beatles music
accompanying the artists on stage.
Tickets will range in price from $69
up to $150. The performances are scheduled for 7:30 and 10:30 nightly
Thursday through Monday. There will be no performances on Tuesday and
Wednesday.
