Avril Lavigne, 21, who is a Canadian singer and pop star, married lead singer of the band Sum41, Derycky Whibley, 26, in an outdoor, nondenominational wedding ceremony at a private estate in Montecito, California. Montecito is a city on the California coast and is locate approximately 90 miles northwest of Los Angeles.

People Magazine reported that approximately 110 guest attended the wedding. Lavigne went traditional. As the “Wedding March” song by Mendelssohn played in the background, she was in a Vera Wang gown, holding a bouquet of white roses while being escorted and given away by her father, John.
