By exercising for at least 30 minutes in the morning when you first wake
up and before you eat breakfast, you set your body up to burn more body
fat. The reason you burn fat better is because your body has been
without food for several hours and you do not have carbohydrates
available when you first wake up. When you exercise your body need
carbohydrates for energy but will instead substitute your body fat for
energy instead, which improves your fat burning ability.
Have you ever
found yourself tired at the end of the day and didn’t exercise? You
might have had something unexpected come up that made it so you
didn’t do your evening fitness routine. By the end of the day you
are probably really tired. It may not be a physical tired but a
mental tired and you want to wind down for the day. It can become
self defeating to exercise in the evenings as you will likely give
up on the routine because you will find it difficult to continually
exercise in the nighttime.
If you exercise first thing in the morning your metabolism will get a
boost for the whole day allowing for more calories to get burned
throughout the day. Exercising at night you rev up your metabolism only
a short time just before you are going to sleep. When you sleep your
body goes into the slowest metabolic rate of the day. Exercising at
night can be counterproductive when you want to exercise to burn fat.
Don’t forget to eat a healthy breakfast after you exercise. Don’t skip
breakfast because this helps to improve your outlook for the day.
Eating breakfast can reduce your hunger and may help you to eat less the
whole day. You can also fire up your metabolism more by eating a
breakfast. Your body metabolism tends to slow down when you don’t eat
food as a protective measure.
If you exercise
in the morning, even before you eat breakfast, you will find that
you will have a better chance of getting in your workout every day.
The only obstacle that you would need to overcome is getting used to
waking up in the morning to allow for the extra time to exercise.
To accomplish this goal, you need to work on going to sleep earlier
and consistently and keep your bedtime schedule at the same time each
night. If a sleep routine doesn’t vary, your body will grow
accustomed to the going to sleep and waking up at the same time each
day.
Exercising in the morning can be a great way to put something that you
really don’t like to do out of your mind for the rest of the day. The
reality for most people is that they don’t like to exercise. We know it
is good for us, but we really don’t like to do it. I guess that is why
they call it a “work” out. It benefits us and we reason understand
that we should do it,
but if you have to think about it all day that you will have to work out
in the evening, it can actually make your whole day dreadful. If you
get up and workout before you are conscious enough to even think about
why you are working out first thing in the morning, you find that you will have already exercised and guess what, you won’t think
about exercising the rest of the day.
Always make sure
to check with your doctor before starting any new diet or exercise
program before you begin. Exercise has been known to help reduce
stress, and can give you a boost of energy. If you exercise in the
morning it gives you a good start to the day ahead. It could even
make it possible for you to get more things accomplished because you
will be more alert sooner during the day. While many of us can find
every excuse not to exercise, you might want to rethink the morning
workout routine and give it a try. After all, it is your health
that suffers when you don’t workout.
