TiVo Recorder - How to Program your TiVo to record TV shows via the Internet

TIVO Recorder - How to Program your TIVO to record TV shows via the Internet

TIVO series 2 recorder

If you have TiVo service directly with TiVo (sorry DirecTV DVR doesn’t work) you can benefit by using the internet to automatically have your TiVo be programmed remotely for recording shows.

TiVo is a popular way to record television.  What is good about TiVo is that you can pick your television shows and movies to record for you and you can watch them when you have a chance.  You can rewind live TV and even pause it so you don’t miss anything.  TiVo records the television to a hard drive making it easy to navigate through multiple recordings.  If programming times change TiVo knows to record the show at a different time.  While VCR’s have programming features it does not offer many of the features of TiVo.  TiVo Recorder - How to Program your TiVo to record TV shows via the Internet

ABC's ‘Lost’ TV Show – May 24th Season Finale Answers to Why the Plane Crashed

Lost Novel

ABC’s popular ‘Lost’ TV show will wrap up their 2nd season by answering a few questions but of course leaving us with a new cliffhanger.  The two hour season finale will answer some questions, like what will happen if you don’t push the button in the hatch when the countdown expires.

The episode is called “Live Together, Die Alone”.  Jack and Sayid will make a plan to deal with “The Others” and there will be an attempt to get Walt back.  Eko and Locke disagree about pushing the button in the hatch which could result in disaster. The question is what will be the season cliffhanger, chances are it will be related to what will result when the numbers are not entered and the button is not being pushed.  ABC's ‘Lost’ TV Show – May 24th Season Finale Answers to Why the Plane Crashed

The Da Vinci Code - You have Ron Howard and Tom Hanks not to mention Audrey Tautuo of Amelie fame, but the film is also based on a best selling book. Will it live up to the hype, or has all of this publicity been just negative jargon from the Church fueling the fire.

Over The Hedge- The kids movies are coming and we all know what that means. Packing the kids in the car or truck and shipping them down to the theater and either being disappointed but getting a good nap in or laughing our collective butts off. Time will tell. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes – Scientology ‘Silent Birth’ Does the Baby wear Ear Plugs?

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes – Scientology ‘Silent Birth’ Does the Baby wear Ear Plugs?

Breastfeeding Recommended by US Department of Health

Currently there is a lot of talk about Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes beliefs in Scientology and having their baby delivered by ‘silent birth’.  Somehow it sounds ridiculous to be silent during the birthing process.  Why not knock out Katie and do a C-section delivery that could be very quite.  That would be silent as ever, but I guess that contradicts with other beliefs of Scientology.

The reality of the birthing process is that the baby is still inside how much can a baby hear?  During the process of delivery of the baby being pushed out the baby is likely to be in shock as it is and I don’t think delivery would be any more traumatic with a little noise.

Who says that you have to yell during your delivery, but if it hurts that much the lady delivering has to do whatever she needs to get through it.  The silliness of this is that you need ‘Scientology’ to have a commonsense approach to a stressful situation.  Delivering a baby is a stressful and potentially painful arrangement for the mother to be.  It makes common sense to stay cool through the whole ordeal; however, to ask for extreme quietness is likely to add stress for the mother delivering the baby.  Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes – Scientology ‘Silent Birth’ Does the Baby wear Ear Plugs?

TV Series Lost on ABC has New Twists – Locke is Becoming Dominant Character While the Doctor Seeks Attention

The Lost Cast

Lost is one of the most popular shows on Television right now, and for good reason.  The last episode involved John Locke, the prisoner, and Locke’s past.  It was one of the best episodes of the series and answered some of the questions involving the prisoner, Henry Gale, sort of.

Henry was captured in a trap set by the French Woman, who claims he is one of the “others”.  The other people on the island are still a mystery, along with pretty much everything else in the show.  We are still not sure why everyone ended up on the ill-fated plane that crash landed on the island.  Locke tends to believe it is a good thing, especially considering he was not able to use his legs before the crash, but once on the island he was able to.  TV Series Lost on ABC has New Twists – Locke is Becoming Dominant Character While the Doctor Seeks Attention

North Country Movie Review - Charlize Theron

North Country Movie Review - Charlize Theron

Charlize Theron

Coming off the success of her indie film Whale Rider Niki Caro makes an attempt at a true tale of sexism and prejudice in the work place with North Country starring Charlize Theron and a supporting cast much to large to list here. Where to begin?

The movie is a film that some people will have to see if only for the historical (although inaccurate) presence that it had on Unions and big companies. It comes at you with an angle much like the usual media outlet will come at you these days.

They lay the foundation thick for a woe-is-me tale and transform every living object around the lead character into monster figures so in the end if your not on her side then your sexist. My biggest problem with the film is that it has no one that is in the least bit easy to like. Everyone in the film has their undesirable quirks that make it hard to stay interested in the film. Was I frustrated by the sexism in this film? Yes, but probably too often.  North Country Movie Review - Charlize Theron

As far as theatre photography goes, Pascal Molliere is a relative new comer. Having only been shooting the London stage for the last 5 years, he is positively a rookie - 5 years is no time in this business.

Other well known theatre photographers such as John Haynes and Knobby Clarke, who have both been photographing the likes of Dame Judy Dench and Sir Ian McKellen are among other well known names have been around literally for decades. But in this short time, Pascal Molliere has produced some of the best richly observed theatre stills in the business.  Pascal Molliere - Possibly the next best London Theatre Photographer

Good Night And Good Luck Movie Review - Edward R Murrow Vs McCarthy Film

Good Night And Good Luck Movie Review - Edward R Murrow Vs McCarthy Film

Good Night and Good Luck

Good Night, and Good Luck is George Clooney's second attempt at directing (after his poorly recieved film Confessions of a Dangerous Mind) a feature film and sorry to say, atleast for me, that it does not impress. The film, which consists of an abundnace of raw footage taken from the actual hearings during the McCarthy era, but this film has less to do with McCarthy as it does with Edward R. Murrow's attempts to expose the McCarthy hearings for what they really were, a witch hunt.

To bad its nothing we all haven't heard before. Unlike 1991's Guilty By Suspicion inwhich Irwin Winkler tackles the same subject matter with more girth, Clooney leaves little room for the human effects of the McCarthy era other then to show what motivates Murrow to take chances as a journalist in playing McCarthy at every angle and calling him out on his factless rants  Good Night And Good Luck Movie Review - Edward R Murrow Vs McCarthy Film

Did the Holy Grail Exist? - The Grail Code and Hindu Kundalini how it affects Your Health

19th century painting of the Holy Grail

Right now the whole world is going mad over the Da Vinci Code and its supposed secrets of the Holy Grail. Well, in fact there is a brand new book out called The Serpent Grail, which sets about proving that the grail was in fact a mixing bowl for the Elixir of Life. In fact, I am the main author of that book and I have gone several steps further and proven that the mixture of venom and blood from the snake actually boosts the immune system and thereby aided ancient man in battling off disease. But there was another level - a more psychological and some would say, spiritual level. This level became our "quest" for the grail and the ultimate enlightenment, or so it was thought. But there are dangers. Did the Holy Grail Exist? - The Grail Code and Hindu Kundalini how it affects Your Health

Would the Real Jesus Please Stand Up

Would the Real Jesus Please Stand Up

19th century painting of Jesus

This is a tale of lost legend, of hidden people taken from our site by the jealousy of the Church.

Born 3rd or 4th Year BC in Tyana in Cappadocia, at 16 Appollonius of Tyana became a disciple of Pythagoras, renouncing flesh, wine and women. He wore no shoes and let his hair and beard grow long.

He soon became a reformer and fixed his abode in the Temple of Aesculapius - the serpent healing deity we discovered to be of paramount importance in The Serpent Grail, and who himself originated from the Egyptian architect Imhotep.

It was claimed of Appollonius that he was one of the wisest of all men and in all likelihood he gained his immense wisdom whilst at the feet of the wise serpentine Naga sages of the Indian sub-continent.  Would the Real Jesus Please Stand Up

The Serpent and the Lady of the Lake

The Serpent and the Lady of the Lake

Philip Gardiner

Is there a mystery here to be unraveled? Is there a serpent code being held by the Grail myths? Can we uncover this code by taking a look at the Lady of Lake? The answer is yes to all these questions, for held within the folds of the coiled snake we shall discover the truth of the origin of the Arthurian tales and the strange watery Lady who was to give Arthur his sword.

There are various names attributed to the ‘Lady of the Lake;’ Nimue and Vivienne are the two most used, but most pertinent to us here is ‘White Serpent.’ Nimue is probably Mneme or Mnemosyne, who is one of the Muses or ‘water nymphs’ from Roman and Greek mythology and who gave out weapons - just as the Lady of the Lake did. Vivienne in all likelihood comes from Vi-Vianna or Co-Vianna the ‘water goddess’ or Coventina of Celtic origin (‘Coventina’s Well’ also had a skull offering discovered which is important in the worship of snakes and wisdom [1].)  The Serpent and the Lady of the Lake

Gnosticism - The King Arthur Code

Gnosticism - The King Arthur Code

19th Century painting of King Arthur

There is a journey that we all must take. It is called life. There is no escaping this journey. We cannot pay somebody to take it for us or take the pain and sorrow that frequents our path. Without our mother and father there would be no help at all from the very start. We would be helpless and we would die.

We are born with no knowledge whatsoever other than some minor genetic memories, and many of us simply follow the patterns that life, evolution and our peers throw at us. We subconsciously assume we must do as our forefathers; we must follow in their footsteps; we must marry, have children, get a job, and step onto the roller-coaster of commercialism and the greed oriented rat race we know as capitalism or even communism. There is seemingly no way out of this life and anyway, most of us are enthused by the chase - for we truly know do different.  Gnosticism - The King Arthur Code

Record Companies Investigated For Online Music Price Collusion by Justice Department - Compare Apple iTunes With Wal-Mart Licensing Agreements

Apple Allows for CD Case Creation

The United States Department of Justice (DOJ) is looking into whether the major music companies “colluded” in setting wholesale prices for digital Music downloads.  This comes on the tail of Apple’s sale of their 1 billionth song off of their iTunes Website.

The DOJ investigation follows a similar investigation by the New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer.  In a recent Fox News reports by Tim Arango, this could have stemmed from a “very public spat between the music industry and Apple chief Steve Jobs over pricing on the iTunes service, which charges 99 cents per track.”  Record Companies Investigated For Online Music Price Collusion by Justice Department - Compare Apple iTunes With Wal-Mart Licensing Agreements

The Serpent and the Real Origins of Freemasonry

Philip Gardiner

Abraham the Israelite father of mankind, and Hiram of the Freemasons, are one and the same, and both are based upon serpent worshippers with Indian Naga or serpent deity backgrounds. A grand statement, but one that I am not alone in making.

Flavious Josephus said in his History of the Jews:

“These Jews are derived from the Indian philosophers; they are named by the Indians Calani.”

Megasthenes, sent to India by Seleucus Nicator, also said that the Jews were called “Kalani” and that they were an Indian tribe. The Serpent and the Real Origins of Freemasonry

The Truth About Secret Societies - Their link to the Enlightenment Experience and Mind Control

The Truth About Secret Societies - Their link to the Enlightenment Experience and Mind Control

Philip Gardiner

One of the most profound enigmas of the existence of secret societies is and has always been, why do people join? Why is it, that people find these groups so interesting? What is it that we are looking for?

There are the usual and obvious answers to these questions. That we are all searching for enlightenment in our own way, and that each person finds it in different ways hence the need for so many kinds of secret organizations. This has been called a void that we need to somehow fill, an emptiness within each one of us that calls out for a higher being or state of consciousness. Some psychologists believe that this is an evolutionary aspect of our lives, that within us there is a constant urge to improve and a deep-rooted hope. This hope makes us strive for more and thus we become the strongest and fittest of the species hence evolution.   The Truth About Secret Societies - Their link to the Enlightenment Experience and Mind Control

Aerosmith Just Keeps On Rockin’ - Band Concert Tours Still

Aerosmith

For over three decades, Aerosmith have been one of rock's most revered and popular bands, crafting classic songs full of raw guitar runs and intensely energetic vocals. The band first reached fame in the 1970’s with a string of hits including "Dream On," "Sweet Emotion" and "Walk This Way."

During this period, Aerosmith's music defied easy categorization, falling somewhere between hard rock/blues and early punk, with occasional power ballads here and there. The band enjoyed major popularity throughout the 1970's, but a split from 1979-84, and the serious substance abuse and drug addictions that contributed to their decline, would nearly relegate them to the annals of history. However, in 1984, Aerosmith was born again. They went on to enjoy resurgence in popularity that has made them one of the top-selling and most popular rock bands in the world today.  Aerosmith Just Keeps On Rockin’ - Band Concert Tours Still

Two historians said that the author, Dan Brown, copied their work in order to write “The Da Vinci Code” and are suing both the author and publisher.

Richard Leigh and Michael Baigent are suing Random House and Dan Brown for copyright infringement.  They authored a 1982 non-fiction book along with Henry Lincoln (who is not participating in the lawsuit) called, “The Holy Blood, and the Holy Grail”.  This was a bestseller in its time.  They claim that “The Da Vinci Code” took the framework of their book to use it to build “The Da Vinci Code” book.  The lawsuit is being held in the UK.  Both sides are not talking at this time in regards to this case.  “The Da Vinci Code” author Dan Brown being sued by Historians for Copyright Infringement

Fox network had out ranked NBC’s Winter Olympics with “American Idol”.  Preliminary figures from Nielsen Media Research said that “American Idol” averaged 26.3 million viewers this past Tuesday.  Only 16 million people watched the Winter Games on NBC during the same hour.

The age group of 18 to 49 is the target group that advertisers love and “American Idol” delivers the most to this age group.  Last week when the Olympics were not on air they had 30 million viewers.

It could be possible that people are not as motivated to watch this years Winter Olympics because it is in Italy.  Having the Olympics in North America may fire people up more about the games.  “America Idol” had 10 million more viewers than the 2006 Winter Olympics

Great Upcoming Concerts for 2006

Great Upcoming Concerts for 2006

Concert dates

There are some great upcoming events for music lovers in 2006. The 2005 Grammy award winner John Mayer is touring during the early part of the year. This is definitely not one to miss. John Mayer’s career really took off in 1999-2000. Working out of Atlanta, he produced his first solo album, “Inside Wants Out”, in 1999.

Mayer became a regular draw in the Atlanta club circuit. Then, an appearance in March of 2000 at the South by Southwest Music Festival equated to a recording contract with a subsidiary of Columbia Records. He recorded his major label debut, “Room for Squares”, with producer John Alagia, who had previously worked with artists like Dave Matthews and Ben Folds Five. Room for Squares featured electric funky hooks and Mayer's versatile, smooth voice, which bore a striking resemblance to the stylistic sound of Dave Matthews.  Great Upcoming Concerts for 2006

Memoirs of a Geisha Movie Review

Memoirs of a Geisha Movie Review

Memoirs of a Geisha

After watching Memoirs of a Geisha, I was left with many conflicting opinions regarding film making choices and the depiction of a strong female lead.  Indeed, the film-maker and the feminist inside of me are pulling their hair out trying to decide whether or not this was a good film.  Overall it was beautiful film and Sayuri (played by Chinese actress, Ziyi Zhang) is strong willed, but it's the small inconsistencies leave me so frustrated.

First and foremost I must mention how visually stunning the movie is.  What more could you expect from a movie about Geisha's?  The combination of colors, the subtle camera movements and focuses, and the talented actresses make this a bit of eye candy that anyone with eyes can appreciate. Memoirs of a Geisha Movie Review

Peter Jackson King Kong Movie Review - Simply Brilliantly Crafted

Peter Jackson King Kong Movie Review - Simply Brilliantly Crafted

Peter Jackson's King Kong

Peter Jackson once more brings a classic into modern mainstream movie theatres, only this time in place of small hairy-footed creatures carrying precious antique jewelry, we have one giant hairy ape carrying a kicking and screaming Anne Darrow.  However, unlike Jackson's previous film success (mainly, the final installation to the Lord of the Rings trilogy), the three hours of cinematic art passes by seamlessly and pleasantly.  So pleasantly, in fact, that I almost felt as though the credits rolled a moment too soon.

In this brilliantly crafted remake of the 1933 King Kong, modern technology and more patient audiences provide a valuable base for exploring deeper emotions and finer details in the intense relationship between Anne and Kong.  Not only is the relation explored deeper, but altered to make it more meaningful and realistic.  Gone is the constantly frightened Anne, and present is an Anne who, by the end of the film, comes to understand her hairy love interest and, perhaps, even love him in return.  Peter Jackson King Kong Movie Review - Simply Brilliantly Crafted

A book for gingerbread house makers

Maybe they will have to add cooking competitions to the Winter Olympics.  You will find gingerbread competitions across the US this holiday season and you might be inspired to try making one this year.

On Food Network they broadcasted last night one of many gingerbread competitions.  The gingerbread houses on the show were terrific.  I was amazed at how detailed these gingerbread houses are.  Even kids are getting into the competitions in a child category.  One lady on the show said that she put in over 400 hours working on her gingerbread creation.  These are works of art that really would make anyone amazed.  Gingerbread House baking Competitions popular in the United States

Shooting a lot of pictures is easy for digital camera users. Shooting too many to conveniently keep on your camera's memory card can be a problem. Here're some great solutions.

Most of the time, digital camera accessories like a CompactFlash card, Secure Digital card or Memory Stick are sufficient for capturing a few hours of casual shooting.

But what about a really long day of photography like a wedding? Or how about going on vacation for two weeks? Do we really need to drag along a laptop computer so we can transfer our images and keep shooting? Or buy additional memory cards that we probably won't use again until next year?
